We discuss Mesa. Or is it table?
Also covered: Who would you like to play you in a movie?
Would you rather...
When was the last time you cried and why?

Episode 49 of Dad's Rules Podcast!
Who in your life do you owe an apology? That is the question we dive into this week. It was definitely a surprise card out of the Intimacy Deck.
Some topics covered were:
Wisdom from Aunt Ethel
Blowing people off and the consequences
Ending friendships over money
AND
Rule 17 - Ask for forgiveness. Mean it. Move on.
This episode is jam packed!

Episode 48 we go back into the decks with cards from the Impact Deck from Best Self.
We drew 3 cards to discuss.
1st card said to choose a new habit and take it on for the next 30 days. We had to compromise. Melissa was going way too extreme and I couldn't get behind it.
2nd card was an affirmation card that said I own my truth and I speak it freely.
Know you truth and own your truth.
3rd card was about reflection. Which value do you care about that you're not currently living.
As always, these cards pull us off topic, but that is where the meat of the show lives anyway.

Episode 47 is all about BBQ sauce!
I kid I kid. It is actually about Rule #5 - Patience is Bullshit.
We spend this episode diving into rule 5 and why you should go full out in everything you do.
Why?
You need to find out quickly if this path you are on is what you want to do or not. Having patience, thinking time just needs to go on and you will progress from promotion to promotion until you get to X in the company, then you will feel happy and fulfilled is a fool's errand.
Set yourself up to progress quickly, whether you work for someone else or for yourself. Go full throttle. You only get so many trips around the sun.
I will respect you more if you go all out and then decide it isn't for you over someone that played at the edges and never figured out that if they had gone all out, they would have really liked it.
I also cover some companies that used patience to a fault and ran them straight out of business.
This goes deeper than I could in the book. That was the whole purpose of creating this podcast. I hope you enjoyed this episode as much as I liked making it.

Episode 46 we are back in the Menace Underground with Melissa Belzer.
This one is another Best Self deck, Icebreaker Deeper Talk. The question this week is Where in your life are you lazy and what's your excuse?
Hey, some areas of laziness are okay. However, it isn't a good thing if it stops you from progressing forward in life and achieving your dreams.
It is okay to make yourself vulnerable to this and trying to figure out how to overcome it or delegate so you won't have to deal with it.
Our current shortcomings are in organization. What are you dealing with?

Episode 45 is a live talk I did on Wisdom. I originally made it to share to my real estate community. Part way through recording it, I realized that it would need to be part of the podcast. It fit perfectly after the New Year Same You episode.
This one was a solo episode I did while on a walk and talk. No fancy equipment but an iPhone.
I will go over the tips that I believe will help you actually make goals and follow them through to success.
1) Write down you goals. Break them down to something achievable.
2) Make it public.
3) Go out and do what you committed to doing.

Episode 44 is all about the new year and goals.
But, why is this airing in February? I timed this episode out to remind you of what you planned on doing this year but more than likely quit.
Well, that seems harsh! Look, it is nothing personal. It is just statistically likely that you quit. Whether it was get in shape, start your novel or go after your dream job, the vast majority of people will quit within the first few weeks of January.
The issue is, they give up for a whole year and rinse and repeat the same bad pattern.
New years goals are dumb. I get why it is significant for people. New Year New You blah blah blah.
How about if you slip, you just start over? Instead of being a new year same you, break the pattern.

Episode 43 gets into the decks again. This week, Melissa and I pull from the Thinking Time Business Edition deck from Best Self.
Now, Melissa isn't a business owner. That doesn't mean she doesn't have some wisdom to bring to this conversation. In fact, many times, it is those not all up in your business that will see what you are blind to seeing.
This week, we talk about the steps that can be taken to reduce how much time you spend on administrative and other non-value added activities.
We go over priorities items that must be done. We also talk about the power of having an assistant and relying on other professionals.
I also go over what I did during a recent challenge, 75 Hard Phase One. Many will miss the value in these challenges not understanding the discipline and accountability that comes from it.
Now, it wasn't all serious. We also covered our dog and his weird habits when it is raining outside.

Episode 42 of Dad's Rules!
We decided to go a different direction on this one and talk about my rules on driving and why they probably can't be universal rules.
After listening, maybe some of you will come around to my way of thinking. I can only hope so...
Like, how do you merge onto the interstate? What is the appropriate speed in each lane? When are you allowed to gape at the accident or disabled vehicle off to the side of the road? Also, what is up with BMW owners and the inability to use a turn signal?
These are all important and critical to a kickass life...well, to me, anyway.
Take a listen. Let me know your thoughts and enjoy one of the greatest episodes of Dad's Rules I have made to this date!!!

Melissa Belzer joins me again on location at Menace Underground to go through another prompt deck.
This one is designed for kids. Wouldn't you know it that the every first question felt very grown up? Well, the first Dad's Rules book is about being a kickass adult so we need to get the kids thinking critically early.
What do you feel strongly about?
I i feel strongly about kindness. I feel strongly about not dying on the wrong hills. I don't think everyone is out to get you and I also don't think you should go through life half-assed.
Go full out and be the best YOU that you possibly can.
Those are some things I feel strongly about.
If you like or hate the show, I would appreciate it if you share it with friends and enemies alike. They all need it. Also, review, comment and like it. I only grow with the power of you.
