1 Corinthians 16:1-4

Here the apostle Paul is preparing the churches to take up an offering for the suffering saints in Jerusalem

James 2:15-16

15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,

Given financially to people in need is showing the compassion and love of Jesus. Paul the apostle was responsible for getting this offering to these poor saints in Jerusalem. How many people have spent time debating when the trumpet will sound? One thing is totally guaranteed. It’s gonna sound.

I heard an old, old story, how a Savior came from glory

How He gave His life on Calvary to save a wretch like me

I heard about His groaning, of His precious blood's atoning

Then I repented of my sins, and won the victory

How are the dead raised up?

1 Corinthians 15:35-49

Some Christians in the Corinthian Church did not believe that the dead were raised up, and they asked a question: how are the dead raised up? Paul gives them a profound answer. God created everything; there’s no time with God. There’s nothing too hard for God.

The Resurrection of Christ explained

1 Corinthians 15:12-34

The firstfruits of the harvest and the contrast between Adam and Christ.

When the harvest was over before grain could be sold in the markets or could be used by the people, the firstfruits of the harvest had to be offered to God. From a general field the grain was harvested and specially prepared and then offered to God. Only then could the grain be used.

Building on that picture, Paul said that until God had raised Christ from the dead, no one had any hope. But His Resurrection became like the grain that had been offered to God: it opened the way for everyone to have hope. He made Adam the symbol of the old earthly order and Christ the symbol of the new order

Worship that works

1 Corinthians 14:26-40

Many will look at these scriptures and try to prove or disprove that tongues are for today, but I think they miss the big picture.

Paul is allowing the laity to be involved in the worship service, but under the guidance of the clergy, they definitely shouldn’t have any self-interest in the worship of God. Sometimes we use church lingo and we’re unaware of it, and people go away empty-handed. Let our worship services be orderly,

Spiritual, and giving glory to God, I personally think tongues were for a sign, but today we have the Holy scriptures, and not to use them,in the worship of God,is very disrespectful.

The convicting power of God‘s Word

1 Corinthians 14:21-25

“he is convinced of all, he is judged of all”

God‘s perfect will is for all to hear his wonderful plan of salvation, but many will reject his words, but some will believe and be converted when the church is in perfect harmony and proclaiming the wonderful words of God. Sinners will be converted, and the church will be edified.

Teaching the Truth

1 Corinthians 14:10-17

“ that by my voice I might teach others”

Paul the apostle was given these Corinthians a lesson on how to teach the truth. The main element of teaching the truth is for your audience to understand what you’re saying. There are many commentators that make it very difficult to understand what they are saying because they use words that are not common to us. They may seem intelligent, but they forsake this principle of speaking words that are easy to understand.
