The Unbelief of the People

John 12:36-43

Elijah saw Christ many years before he ever came, but some of the people could not even see Christ nor his works, and they were standing right in front of him. Blindness of eyes and hardness of heart. The prophet said, “Let us not read the scriptures with blindness, no hardness of heart, but let us search diligently and see Jesus.”

The Son of Man Must Be Lifted Up

John 12:27-35

Jesus gave his life for the sins of the whole world that man may repent and turn to God.

The apostle, John said And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world

The apostle Paul said

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Some Greeks Seek Jesus

John 12:20-26

The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.

These Greeks had a desire to see Jesus For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

The apostle Paul said,

But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

The Triumphal Entry

John 12:12-19

This was a glorious day, people lifting up Jesus as the king of kings and the Lord of Lords, but how much glorious when Jesus comes back riding on a white horse and the clouds of glory with a sharp sword in his hand to defeat the devil and his angels and all the wicked and to set up his kingdom forever and ever.

The Plot to Kill Lazarus

John 12:9-11

This seems to be a common theme for the unbelieving Jewish leaders to kill the prophets. Remember, they killed John the Baptist, they stoned Stephen. Eventually, all the disciples of the Lord were killed, even Paul the apostle. Why? Because they were pointing people to Jesus. Jesus was right when he said, “Your father is the devil, and he is a murderer.”

Mary Anoints Jesus at Bethany

John 12:1-8

Martha was serving the Lord. Lazarus was sitting with the Lord, and Mary was sacrificing to the Lord. What a beautiful lesson for all of us to learn: at times we sit with the Lord, at times we serve the Lord, and at other times we sacrifice to the Lord.

The Plot to Kill Jesus

And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all

This statement was said of religious leaders that they knew nothing at all. They know a lot about religion. They know a lot about their laws and their rules, but they do not know Christ, how sad to know nothing of the power of Christ, the forgiveness of Christ, the blessings of Christ. Let us fall down today and worship Christ Jesus alone.

Jesus Raises Lazarus

John 11:38-44

How can people so ignorantly say that Jesus was just a man or a good teacher or a prophet? If you were sitting there and saw such a miracle, would you walk away with unbelief?

Listen to the words of the Rich Man and Luke chapter 16. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they would repent.

And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Jesus Weeps

“Jesus wept”

This is the shortest verse found in the Bible Paul the apostle wrote Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep what a blessing to have a Savior that knows our deepest sorrows

I Am the Resurrection and the Life

John 11:17-27

This is not the first time that Jesus spoke about the resurrection in John chapter 5. he said Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,

And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
