God tells Ezekiel that he is going to take away his wife, and he commands him not to weep and wail as he mourns but to keep silent. This seems harsh to us if we think that God's ultimate plan is to give us an easy and carefree life, but God commands the hard thing of Ezekiel because he was not willing to spare his own son for us all.
