Two important lessons in today's devotional. One, creation itself is proof of how great God is. Just imagine the vastness and order of the universe and realise how great the person that set them in place must be. Secondly, even though we've had such advancements and discoveries in science, there are questions only God can answer. There are things you are currently passing through that it would seem unfair to ask people like you to explain why they are happening, instead, let those questions cause you to draw towards God. And I can tell you with absolute certainty, you will find the answers you are looking for in God.

Elihu's argument was simple, you have no right to question God Job. In the end, your righteousness, goodness even, and sins only impact people like yourself, not God. To question God and try to make him seem unfair is to throw everything out of order. We might never be able to find the answers to the whys of why things happen, but we can be rest assured that God would stay sovereign and he continue to do right.

Job's final words was to claim that God was at fault for what he was going through and all the abuses he had received from his friends. His claim was, based on what he had previously done, he did not deserve the things happening to him. Job was making the same mistakes he is scolding his friends for, however, in reverse. They were wrong to claim what was happening must be as a result of something Job did wrong. But Job was also wrong to claim his actions do not deserve his experience, as if God was being unfair. In the end, all of our good deeds, in God's eyes, at best are like filthy rags. Instead, our perspectives should be; thank you Lord for helping me to do this and that.

After acknowledging the greatness of God, Job subtly begins to slide into pride and boasting claiming his personal righteousness and that everything he has accomplished, he did so because he was good. The problem here is that, pride always leads to a fall, it is a blindfold that will trip the best amongst us.

Why does it seem the wicked gets away with being wicked and prosper and live long? Why does it seem the good person tend to suffer and are cut short quickly? Why does it seem it's those who don't care about God that are popular? These were some of Job's charges and questions against God and I, like most people can relate. You probably think the world is not fair, right? One thing is clear to me though, each one of us, whatever it is that life deals us, are on this walk of faith with God, my advise, enjoy your journey, enjoy your walk of faith, and trust God to help you make the best of the time he has given you. #Walkoffaith

I have just one word for someone listening in this morning, "your Redeemer lives". Don't give up on God, don't give up on your dreams. You will flourish and prosper again, in Jesus' mighty name.

Grief is real, pain is real, and they don't have to be or come as a result of our actions or sins like Eliphaz is insisting. I pray that for your pain, the Lord will comfort you, he will give you beauty for ashes and the oil and fragrance of joy in place of the heaviness you currently feel in Jesus' name.

Job's one complaint was that there was no mediator between him and God. As you see him struggle to understand and explain what he was going through, you cannot but that God for giving us Jesus; our mediator with the Father, our advocate, redeemer and friend. Father we thank you specially today for giving us Jesus.

What does evil happen to the good, is it because they sinned? Is it a reward for an evil that might have committed previously? Today's devotional will answer so of these questions as Job speaks in response to his friend Eliphaz. Job will also give us an understanding of how someone grieving feels.

One of the most difficult questions people struggle with is understanding why bad things happen to good people. Job's story is a classic series that will open our eyes to human frailty, how difficult it can be to hold on to ones integrity, trusting God, etc. The book of Job has a tonne of wisdom to teach us. For one I pray this morning that the Lord will keep you from evil in Jesus name.
