Having someone in your life that can help guide and encourage you is a gift from God! This episode begins the story of Paul and Timothy.  Paul thought of Timothy as a son and wanted him to be equipped with encouragement for the journey that was ahead.

We all have emotions!  They are both positive and negative emotions that reside in each of us. How do we handle the negative emotions, though?  This episode shows us that if not dealt with properly it can damage the lives of others. We will peer into the lives of the Royal family and see how improper care of emotions can lead to sin and utter devastation.

What do you do when opposition rises in the church regarding worship? Let's take a look at how the church resolved the issue of circumcision for the new believers, the Gentiles.

Paul and Barnabas persisted in preaching the good news despite the opposition they faced. Their example is one for us, too.  We should not allow intimidation or the threat of attacks prevent us for continuing the spread of the gospel.  Let's be resilient and resist the temptation to throw in the towel.  Souls are depending on our dedication to the mission.

On this journey misunderstandings will occur.  There will be opinion that are incorrect due to faulty thinking.  When this happens it could put a halt in the mission, but persist and seek to bring correction without compromising the message.  When people refuse to hear they can be easily influenced to change their view of you resulting in persecution.  How would you handle this opposition?  Let's continue our study with Paul and Barnabas to see how they faced these challenges.

The word of God will work in a receptive heart.  But, those who refuse it will try to stir others against you and poison their minds in order to stop the message from being received.  Paul and Barnabas faced this type of opposition.  You may, too.  Let's see how they handled it.

When an opportunity presents to share the gospel sometimes others are stirred up to turn against those who are sharing the message.  In this episode we will see how Paul and Barnabas handled the persecution.  Also, we note that even though there was persecution there was also joy because some received the message and became followers of Jesus.    Even though the messengers and message were opposed the work and word was still successful because somebody received it!  Not all will accept the message, but some will!

In this episode we will see a motive for opposition.  Sometimes the message is opposed because its effect is so powerful and it draws people near to hear.  Not all who are hearing, though, are receiving.  Some or being filled with jealousy.   This episode takes a look at how the Saul (Paul) and Barnabas responded to this type of opposition.

When an opportunity presents to share the gospel please know that opposition may show up, too.   Not everyone is happy when the gospel message is shared.  Even those in your corner, or circle, or camp may try to keep you from hearing the truth or speaking the truth.  What will you do when this opposition rises?  Will you stand firm or cower away?  This episode takes a look at how Saul (Paul) and Barnabas responded to opposition.

God's desire is that none perish, but all come to repentance and live.  Jesus said there is rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents.
