You cannot trust the words or promises of the enemy. Regardless of the enemy's fickleness remain true and do not allow his actions to change yours.
When someone is tring to harm us our natural inclination is to get them before they get us! But, should we have this attitude? In today's episode we will see that David had an opportunity to kill Saul, but did not take it. Instead, he refused to lay a hand on him. What would you do?
What do you do when you've heard an instruction from God that you are ready to obey and someone comes and tries to discourage you from carrying out what you heard? In this episode we will see how David handled the legitimate concerns of his followers. Instead of acting on their fears, he went back to God for clarity on the instruction. This is what we should do as well. Go back to God!
Take refuge in God no matter what! God knows what you need. Trust His provision for you. When the provision comes do not discount it because it does not look like what you'd expect.
Sometimes when life gets a little hard or we go through moments of trial we tend to forget God. It is in these moments we must remember Him. Remembering Him, His nature, His character, and His power will grant us the strength we need to endure the difficulties of life.
True friendships are rare, but treasured. The bible tells us that a friend loves, does not withhold kindness, and will lay down his/her own life for a friend. In this episode we will see these characteristics in Jonathan toward David.
On the way to David's destiny some developments occurred. Everything that happened was a training that would help him in his assignment.
God said, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid. Do not be discouraged, for the Lord will be with you wherever you go." (Joshua 1:9) David was a man who possessed these qualities. He was not fearful or discouraged. He was strong and courageous! He knew God was with him. He did not shy away from the challenges. He faced them with confidence that God would be with him and bring him through them victoriously. We need to remind ourselves of this command and promise.
God opens doors for His chosen ones to enter. We must perfect our crafts! Be seen as faithful! Some saw the skillfulness of David, his brave heart, and knew the Lord was with him. His name was mentioned to the King. It may be so with us, too. Someone is watching. Be sure your name can be spoken with favor so that you can walk through those doors that God opens for you.
Sometimes people will devalue you based on their perceptions. They may think you're too young or too old. Some might think you're not qualified due to lack of education or status in life. The good news is God sees beyond what man sees. We see primarily the outward appearance and we make decisions about people based on that. But not God. God sees the heart and He chooses accordingly. God chose the least likely to be King over His people. I bet God has chosen you to do things that others thought you were not qualified to do, too.
