On Saturday September 6th, a special statewide education summit will be held in Richmond. The hosts are the Virginia Education Opportunity Alliance, which includes the Middle Resolution, Virginia Institute for Public Policy, the Heritage Foundation and leaders in the homeschooling and micro-school movements and the day-long event will look at all of the options open to Virginia Families and discuss greater possibilities in the future.
We sat down with the VEOA director Craig DiSesa to look at those opportunities now and in the future at the State Policy Network Annual Meeting where the growth of school choice was a large portion of the program.

Since striking Iran’s nuclear sites and military personnel last June, America and Israel have brought the Islamic regime to its knees. A web of paranoia, triggered by Israel's systematic dismantling of Iran’s terrorist surrogates and in-country air defense systems, has caused the regime to lash out against an already wary population.
The Obama-Biden administration tried for years to position Iran, and its surrogates, as a “counterweight” to Israel and the more moderate Arab countries in the region, favoring neither one side nor the other.
President Donald Trump’s strike on Iran and subsequent sanctions have tipped the scales in favor of Israel and the more moderate Middle East regimes. “ We don't have to be the instigators. We don't have to stage coups. All we have to do is turn up the heat and let this pot boil over. And boil over it will,” argues Victor Davis Hanson on today’s edition of “Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words.”

Ever since that former California Democrat Governor named Ronald Reagan gave his “Time for Choosing” speech, Conservative’s have wandered further and further away from engaging the issue of poverty. However, Reagan’s ‘do a little arithmetic’ point on poverty budgets vs how much help it’s been to the poor community still pencils out.
President Trump shocked the GOP establishment when he went into Detroit in 2016 and asked, “are you better off now?” Eight years later the Black and Latino community support for the GOP has grown to record levels but has the policy the effort to bring free-market, liberty-based solutions grown to match?
We sit down with Dr Ed Kornegay and Ehi Aimiuwu from the Center for Poverty Solutions and the Illinois Policy Center to hear about the success that they have had in Chicago and can that be exported to places like Richmond, Norfolk, Charlottesville or even… DC?

The Left and Right’s reactions to the events of this week provide a telling insight into why the Right has a hold of the culture, and the Left, decidedly, does not—from the tragic shooting at a Minneapolis Catholic School to Taylor Swift’s engagement announcement.
On today’s episode of Problematic Women, we begin with the tragic shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minnesota. We share what is currently known about the incident and how some Democrats have chosen to respond, including attempts to minimize prayer and politicize the tragedy.
We also highlight the data showing how President Trump’s recent crime crackdown in Washington, D.C., has led to real results—lower carjackings, fewer robberies, and even nearly two weeks without a homicide.
Speaking of Trump, his marathon three-hour cabinet meeting on Tuesday ran longer than The Godfather. We sat through the entire thing so you don’t have to, and we break down the biggest takeaways, from Trump’s surprising stance on Chinese student visas to his pushback on Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker’s call for “non-violent resistance” to potential National Guard presence in Chicago.
And of course, the biggest pop culture story of the week (and possibly the year) is that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are engaged. Travis’ father, Ed, shared a statement on the two’s “shared values, strong work ethic and future family goals,” begging the question: will Taylor and Travis’ new domestic era inspire a marriage and/or baby boom in America?
Isabel Brown joins as our Problematic Woman of the Week, bringing thoughtful commentary on the issues that matter in politics and pop culture.

“I’m Sorry, Dave.”
It's not that George Soros was born in 2008 but he became part of the political zeitgeist that year as we learned about how he helped raise a fortune for the Presidential aspirations of a young Senator from Illinois named Barrack.
Ever since then the specter of Soros and his money has hung over every discussion about democracy in the United States. Last year he announced that he was stepping back from the day-to-day operations in favor of his son Alex, who he calls far more politically active than he ever was, taking over. The fear in Conservative circles was that a more politically aggressive, more targeted Soros organization at Open society would be harder to even keep up with, never mind defeat.
The Soros organization is the key pole underneath the tent of a fundraising machine called Arabella Advisors. They are a philanthropic consulting company that oversees a handful of nonprofits, all of which oversee a multitude of left-leaning projects and organizations. When accounting for the seven nonprofits in the Arabella Network, they provided nearly $1 billion in grants in 2023 alone.
One group that has done an exquisite job all the way to the point of publishing a book on who Arabella Advisors are is the Capital Research Center. Kristen Eastlake, Senior Vice President of the CRC sits down with us at the State Policy Network annual meeting to tell us breaking news that George and more importantly Alex Soros may not have the money they used to have.

Mass protests are erupting in Britain, Germany, and the Netherlands over unchecked migration and crime. Leaders like German Chancellor Friedrich Merz admit that their welfare states can no longer sustain massive entitlement spending for migrants who entered illegally.
Victor Davis Hanson lays out why Europe’s future hangs in the balance and what steps it must take to restore stability, security, and common sense on today’s episode of “Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words.”
“The whole socialist paradigm is not producing goods and service that allow such general entitlements. The borders are insecure. Illegal immigrants are not assimilated, acculturated, integrated into the German, French, European body politic. And they're gonna have a terrible time spending 5% of GDP to defend themselves. This is in addition to having to lower their $200 billion surplus with the United States.
“We know what Europe has to do. It has to return to commonsense energy policies; use their natural gas, use oil, to the extent they have it; build nuclear plants; be competitive on the world market, in terms of energy cost. They need to secure their borders. They need to have legal-only immigration. They need to prune back the state, the socialist state. Can they do it?”
