Study: 8 – Harnessed
This is the eighth installment in Eric’s series entitled The Muscular Christian. In this episode Eric brings to life the idea of meekness, clarifying that meekness is not weakness, but, rather, it is harnessed strength. This is a powerful enunciation of how growth and maturity in the Christian life works, and how the strength of heaven is intended by God to be revealed in and through the Body of Christ.

Study: 9 – Holiness Nose-to-Nose (Ephesians 1:4)
Paul tells us in Ephesians 1:4 that we have been chosen before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless BEFORE HIM. Interestingly, this statement "before Him" not only reveals our sinful condition but also gives the solution – that the only way we can live holy, blameless lives is to get nose-to-nose with God Himself … for it is in embracing the Holy One that we find ourselves holy. This is not a call to legalism or to certain activities as much as it is to become different – to have a different nature – which will change everything in our lives. Join Nathan Johnson in this expositional study in the blessings of God found in Ephesians chapter one.

Study: 7 – The Awkward Zone
This is the seventh installment in Eric’s series entitled The Muscular Christian. In this episode he discusses what he terms, “the threshold of obedience.” On one side of this sacred threshold is the comfort zone and on the other side the awkward zone. God desires to build each of us into men and women that boldly step across this line into the awkward territory and risk speaking of Jesus with others. Eric shares quite a few stories in this episode that are both fun and insightful regarding his own personal experiences in stepping across this line.

This is the sixth installment in Eric’s series entitled The Muscular Christian. In this episode he addresses the curious concept of self-control. What is it? How does it work? Study: 5 – Intrepid
This is the fifth installment in Eric's series entitled The Muscular Christian. In this episode he discusses the oft-misunderstood concept of patience. Patience to many Christians today is a soft and pretty virtue expressed by not complaining when delayed. This lands miles apart from the Biblical rendition of patience. Patience, according to the New Testament and the annals of Christian history, is what has carried Christians throughout the ages though the most difficult of circumstances - to sing in prison cells, to rejoice in sufferings, to smile amidst danger, and to die with gusto. Oh, for the return of this ancient and powerful buoyancy of soul!

Study: 4 – Grit
This is the fourth installment in Eric’s series entitled The Muscular Christian. In this episode Eric addresses the issue of cowardice so prevalent today in the Church. Many Christians attempt to address the daunting issues of spiritual obedience with natural power and gritted teeth only to find impotence in action. That is due to the fact that issues of spiritual obedience demand the exercise of supernatural courage and the gritted teeth of faith. No matter the challenges, God’s grace is sufficient to make up the difference that lies between man’s lack and God’s high calling.

Study: 8 – Called Unto Holiness (Ephesians 1:4)
God has chosen us before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless before Him. Yet too many of us don't understand what it means to be holy and blameless. In this expositional study of Ephesians 1:4, Nathan Johnson examines these two concepts and discusses three aspects of what it means to be made holy and blameless IN Christ Jesus.

Study: 3 – The Bulging Left Bicep
This is the third installment in Eric’s series entitled The Muscular Christian. In this episode he addresses the perception the world has of Christians and how that often controls the behavior of the believer, though a Christian should be wholly immune to such nonsense. A Christian is intended by God to function independent of public opinion polls and wholly dependent upon the good opinion of God alone. And when a Christian selects the applause of heaven over that of this world, he/she instantly becomes a singular threat to the Kingdom of Darkness.

This is the second installment in Eric’s series entitled The Muscular Christian. In this episode he addresses the imperative of every Christian gaining a battle cry in their soul - a feistiness in their spiritual man that causes them to stand when everyone else stays seated and speak when everyone else remains silent.
