When someone enters the Kingdom of Heaven everything is new. What are the first things a new Christian should know? What are the first things a new Christian should begin to do? This series from Eric Ludy offers tremendously practical answers to these questions. So, whether you are a new believer and desiring to start off on the right foot or you are a long-time believer that wants to better know how to help someone take these very first steps forward – this series is an ideal fit.

We are in a spiritual battle. And we must remember that it is not our strength, ability, wisdom, or talent that brings victory – rather it is the strength and might of the Lord. We are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus because He has already won the triumph!
At the conclusion of our Alumni Conference, Nathan Johnson gave a concluding exhortation about living in the strength, power, and resource of our Victor (Jesus Christ). In this message, the battle and victory of David in 2 Samuel 5 is paralleled with our battle and victory in Jesus (see Ephesians 6:10).

In military science, positionally gaining the high ground in any battlefield is the often the key to victory. The same principle is also true in the battlefield of the human soul. Eric Ludy in this episode offers a quick Biblical study on the concept of self-control – what it is; how it works; and how each of us can cultivate this profound spiritual grace in our own lives.

Hebrews 13:5-6 reminds us: “For He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’ So we may boldly say: ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?'” The reason we can live without fear is because of God's character — He is our helper and will never leave or forsake us. We must realize that God won’t throw us to the side, He won’t forsake us, He won’t leave us alone. In this Daily Thunder, we examine this passage and discover that God is adamant about the fact that He will never leave or forsake us … which has the potential to radically change our lives.

Ellerslie has a passion to be like a defibrillator to the Body of Christ and the key inspirational Scriptural text behind this yearning is found in Revelation 3:2 when Jesus, speaking to the Church at Sardis, says, “strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die.” This one Scripture has had a profound effect upon the leadership team at Ellerslie for years and so, as the Daily Thunder project is getting under way it only seemed fitting for Eric Ludy to give a little insight into this particular concept.

On the road to Emmaus, after talking with Jesus, the two disciples looked at each other and proclaimed: "Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?"
There is something powerful when you allow God to reveal truth to you through His Word. We are told that the Word of God is living and active, and when we study it, it is not like studying Shakespeare but rather spending time with the Author Himself.
Every Christian should seek to experience "heart burn" as we spend time in the Bible.
This is the inaugural Daily Thunder episode given to a small group of Ellerslie alumni in town for a weeklong work project. It’s both a fun behind-the-scenes peek into the construct of the Daily Thunder concept as well as a very powerful meditation on the three most basic desires that Eric has for both his children and for the Body of Christ. If you are going to become a Daily Thunder snob, then this is a can’t-miss episode.
