Jesus was physically born approximately 2,000 years ago, but he has always existed. Christ is no mere creature, he is Creator. But “WHAT” was Jesus before his incarnation?
J. I. Packer once said, “The Holy Spirit is a SHY person.” In this sermon clip, Pastor Joel Webbon explains what J. I. Packer meant. Joel then further explains the overarching ministry of the Holy Spirit.
Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that Jesus was originally created by God as the archangel Michael before the physical world was made. In other words, JW’s believe that Jesus is a creature, not the CREATOR. JW’s will say Jesus is “a god,” but not actually GOD.
However, Scripture does not teach that Jesus is a “superior angel.” Instead, Hebrews 1:4-5 says that Jesus is “superior TO angels.”
Christians in America have insisted that Scripture has limitless INTERPRETATIONS, but limited APPLICATIONS. In other words, we have embraced RELATIVISM in our exegesis of Scripture, while insisting that Scripture must ONLY be applied to the HOME and the CHURCH. Meanwhile, the rest of society is falling apart. And we justify this degradation of our society with our ESCHATOLOGY. Christians in America continue to champion PREMILLENNIALISM, excusing the church’s responsibility for the downfall of our culture by consoling ourselves with the notion that things are supposed to get worse and worse until Jesus returns. This is nothing more than a recipe for disaster, a SELF-FULFILLING PROPHECY.
Perhaps you’ve heard someone say, “The God of the Old Testament is harsh, but in the New Testament, Jesus is more loving.” This foolish sentiment radically misunderstands the Trinity.
“Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.” Hebrews 1:1-2 ESV
Pastor Joel Webbon provides one of the clearest and most consider arguments for refuting an incredibly dangerous doctrine from Charismatics.

One of the most common heresies found in Charismatic Churches is the Kenosis Heresy. In order to defend Christians ability to perform all the signs and wonders that Jesus did, Charismatics insist that Jesus “emptied” himself of his divinity during his earthly ministry. It’s a common, but serious, misunderstanding of Philippians 2.
Is Jesus ruling and reigning now? If so, is he ruling and reigning on earth in addition to ruling in heaven? The short answer is yes, but watch this brief clip and you’ll get a full understanding.
