Hello and a lovely Sunday morning to you in the name of Jesus.
We are still talking about acting your new start and the place of courage and taking courageous actions.
Esther 4: 16 (TLB) says "16 “Go and gather together all the Jews of Shushan and fast for me; do not eat or drink for three days, night or day; and I and my maids will do the same; and then, though it is strictly forbidden, I will go in to see the king; and if I perish, I perish".
After Mordecai sent a message to Esther about her need to act courageously and take action in defence of the Jews who are going to be killed if they didn't do anything. Esther gave the reasons why she couldn't go, but later she rose up to the challenge to act courageously.
She said you know what I need you to do, go gather all my family and all the Jews.
I need you to gather them to pray and to fast for me. I will tell the ladies that work with me in the palace to do the same.
After three days, I will go in to see the king and I will put this request before him, he would either listen to me and do something about it or I may die but I am not scared to die if I perish, I perish.
You know Joyce Meyer wrote a book titled "Do It afraid" that is , you might be afraid there, may be things scary in the midst of what you are doing but do it all the same. And do it courageously.
A lot of times when we are taking bold actions, It is important we understand that we need something I will call "Boosters". Things to boost our confidence, things to boost our courage. In the story of Esther we see a few things :
1. She says "Go and fast for me" she knew she needed divine help, she knew she could not do it on her own, she knows she needed God's help. On her own, she was hopeless and helpless.
2. She had a group of people she could rely on. She had people among the Jews, she had people in her palace that could fast for her.
Do you have people that can stand with you?
Do you believe that there is divine help available for you?
It is important you know that sometimes our courage can be challenged and it can disappear but when you have boosters, you have divine resources being released into your life as you fellowship with God, study the word and when you have a group of people standing with you in prayer. It makes it easy to go on.
Even our Lord Jesus Christ when he was going to the cross. The Bible says in Matt 26 that he called His friends he said "Come and stand with me. I am going to the Cross". I need you guys to pray with me for one hour.
If Jesus the son of God the Saviour of the world asked His friends to come and stand with him, how much more you and I?
When we have these situations, when you have crisis situations, you need to be courageous but don't do it alone, get the fellowship of your friends, your family, get the fellowship of God, spend time in prayer, spend time in fasting, spend time in the word and you will see how these things will boost your courage in the name of Jesus.
May your courage be boosted today and always in the name of Jesus.
