  Hello and lovely Friday morning to you in the name of Jesus.

 We are gradually coming to the end of the month of September. We trust God it will be a wonderful weekend for you in the name of Jesus.

 How do we cultivate our conviction? We have spoken about the place of knowing who God is, we have spoken about the power of hanging around God and fellowshipping with Him.

Today, we want to see another one from the life of Moses. So, from the book of Exo 3:11 (NLT) " 11.But Moses protested to God, “Who am I to appear before Pharaoh? Who am I to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt?” 

This is what Moses was saying to God. This is the same Moses who years ago about 40 years had believed he could just take the children of Israel out of Egypt and lead them into their deliverance. He was the mighty prince of Egypt and he thought so much about himself but after that failure experience and he had an encounter with God in this burning bush he just saw his ordinariness .

The truth is this; Every true encounter with God reveals the limitations and helplessness of Human beings. Remember the story of Gideon, Isaiah and Mary. When Gideon met with God. God told him "Listen; you are a mighty man of valour and Gideon said, "I can't do anything, I am the smallest in my family, my family is the smallest".

In Isaiah chapter 6, The Bible talks about the year that Uzziah died, I saw the Lord when Isaiah saw the Lord he said" I am undone, I am finished. How can I stand before God? When Mary met God through the angel and Gabriel brought the message to her that she is going to have a child. She said, "How can these things be?" I don't even know a man and how would this thing  be ? The truth is that; Every true experience with God, every encounter with God will show us that we don't have the power to do it on our own. 

 If you are going to build your conviction, you must admit your limitations and open up to God's power to cultivate you, to make you what you are not. It is like when you want to cultivate a field. If you are going to cultivate a field, the first is this; You must know the state of the field, you must know what you want to do with the field and know whether you want to put ridges there, whether you want to make heaps there or whatever you want to put there.

 It is important you admit that this is where I am when it comes to working with God, we have to admit our limitations, we have to understand that Listen; we are weak in ourselves, we are low in ourselves and without him we are helpless. In Luke 1:54 (NLT) He said, " He had filled the hungry with good things and send the rich away empty ". God send those who feel they are more than enough, those who feel they are powerful in themselves. He sends them away empty" but the hungry, those who desire Him he feels them with good things .The Bible also says, " Blessed are the poor in spirit because they shall inherit the kingdom of God" . When we come to Him needy, when we come to Him helpless and look to Him for strength then God's strength is made available to us. He told the apostle Paul He said" my power is made perfect in your weakness " when we see our weakness, limitations then is when we will begin to understand and enjoy the power of God.

 You want to cultivate your conviction, admit your limitations as a human being and know that without Him you can do nothing and watch how God's power will flow through your life and watch out your conviction  will soar in your spirit.

Hello and a lovely Wednesday morning to you in the name of Jesus.

We are still talking about cultivating conviction. Why is it important we cultivate our conviction? Because conviction doesn’t just come. The bible says in the book of Romans 10:17 faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. So, if faith comes, that means faith can go. Remember we said that faith means conviction so if conviction comes, conviction can go.

So, what are the things we can do to cause conviction to come and cause conviction to go. Those are the things we’ve been looking at through the life of the great man Moses. Moses faced a lot of complications in his life. He was convinced about something at a certain point in his life. Many years later things happened, challenges came, he lost his conviction and God helped him build that conviction back again to the point where he was able to fulfil what God wanted him to do with his life.

We read this morning from Exodus 3:1-6 (NLT) then verses 13 - 14: One day Moses was tending the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock far into the wilderness and came to Sinai, the mountain of God. There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a blazing fire from the middle of a bush. Moses stared in amazement. Though the bush was engulfed in flames, it didn’t burn up. “This is amazing,” Moses said to himself. “Why isn’t that bush burning up? I must go see it.” When the Lord saw Moses coming to take a closer look, God called to him from the middle of the bush, “Moses! Moses!” “Here I am!” Moses replied. “Do not come any closer,” the Lord warned. “Take off your sandals, for you are standing on holy ground. I am the Lord God of your father —the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” When Moses heard this, he covered his face because he was afraid to look at God. Verse 13 and 14: But Moses protested, “If I go to the people of Israel and tell them, ‘The God of your ancestors has sent me to you,’ they will ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what should I tell them?” God replied to Moses, “ I Am Who I Am . Say this to the people of Israel: I Am has sent me to you.”

So God was sending Moses on this great journey, Moses needed to build his conviction in this God that was sending him and the Yoruba people (where I come from) have a proverb they say “it’s not the person that you’re sent to that you’re scared of you should be scared of the person sending you" You need to really understand the person who is given an assignment. So, Moses was given this assignment for God and he didn’t know who this God was, and God said the first thing you need to know...tell them who I am. If you’re going to build your conviction in God, we need to start by building our conviction in the person of God we must know who God is. Until we know who God is we can trust His word, we can trust in His abilities. Hebrews 11 verse 6 says: He who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

My encouragement this morning is that if you’re going to start building our conviction, we must start by knowing who God is. Trust Him, know Him, build your conviction in who He is. In His loving father’s heart, in His person, in His abilities and His attributes and once we settle that we’ll find out how easy it’ll be to begin to cultivate our faith more and more. May the great I Am reveal himself to you in a new way today in the name of Jesus.

Tuesday 22nd September, 2020. 

Hello and a lovely Tuesday morning to you in the name of Jesus.

We thank God for everything He is doing. We are still talking about cultivating your conviction. Yesterday we read from the book of Acts 7:24-35 and we see the journey of Moses. We saw how God moved him from one place when he was forty. A place where he was very convinced that God had sent him as the deliverer of Israel and by the time he was eighty, Moses had nothing to do with God, he had nothing to do with the children of Israel until God helped him build his conviction.

Life had happened when he was forty. He had been betrayed, his people rejected him, they had accused him and he ran out of fear, his conviction when he was young that he will be a deliverer and all that had disappeared and the truth is this; when we receive a promise from God, when we have conviction and have faith that God has called us to be something or do something. Sometimes life happens. What do I mean by life happens? The challenges of life comes, the storm comes, the wind comes and the rain comes and sometimes they come through those who we love. They come through those we are living our life for and those we want to help and he could be very painful and that was what Moses experienced.

He was disappointed that the people I want to help, the people I try to do something for, they are the same people that turned against me. So went to Median and for forty years, he was living in isolation he had nothing to do, he was just living a mundane normal life but God spoke to him again at the age of 80 and as he began to open up himself to God's word as he began to interact with God, his conviction began to grow. He began to cultivate his conviction and God sent him to the same land of Egypt where he had ran away a fugitive and this time God said I am sending you there as their ruler and  saviour.

If you read the book of Exodus chapter 3&4. You will send the process of how God began to talk Moses through his confusion, how he began to talk him through the complexities he had gone through and brought him to the place of conviction and like I said yesterday, what is standing between you and the fulfilment of what God has said concerning you and entering into that place God has created and destined for you is your conviction. Conviction wont just happen, it is something you have to deliberate about, it is something you have to actively cultivate and as you cultivate your conviction just like Moses experienced that what he could not do forty years before, at the age of 40, at the age of 80 he did it.

Don't believe that time has left you behind. Don't believe that opportunity is gone beyond you. It is human beings that say "Opportunity lost can never be regained". In God opportunities can always be regained. All you need to do is to rise up, build your conviction and as you build your conviction, God ushers you into a new reality and you will begin to conquer. 

My prayer for you today is this; As we begin to come to the end of this month and year, whatever it is God had said concerning your life. You will begin to build your conviction for it in the name of Jesus. Opportunities are coming your way today in the name of Jesus and be mindful of them, be opened to them and receive in Jesus name.

Hello and a lovely Monday morning to you in the name of Jesus. We’re gradually coming to the end of the month of September and today we’ll be starting another series.

We’ve been talking about the power of conviction to conquer. Today and till the end of this month we’ll be talking about how to cultivate our conviction. It’s important we understand that cultivation conviction is a lot of work, from time to time our conviction will be challenged, sometimes it won’t be there at all but it’s important to know what to do to cultivate it. If it’s there to increase it, if its not there to know what to do to get it there.

So we’ll be reading from the book of Acts chapter 7 verses 23 to 35(NLT): “One day when Moses was forty years old, he decided to visit his relatives, the people of Israel. He saw an Egyptian mistreating an Israelite. So Moses came to the man’s defence and avenged him, killing the Egyptian. Moses assumed his fellow Israelites would realize that God had sent him to rescue them, but they didn’t. “The next day he visited them again and saw two men of Israel fighting. He tried to be a peacemaker. ‘Men,’ he said, ‘you are brothers. Why are you fighting each other?’ “But the man in the wrong pushed Moses aside. ‘Who made you a ruler and judge over us?’ he asked. ‘Are you going to kill me as you killed that Egyptian yesterday?’ Verse 29: When Moses heard that, he fled the country and lived as a foreigner in the land of Midian. There his two sons were born. Verse 30: “Forty years later, in the desert near Mount Sinai, an angel appeared to Moses in the flame of a burning bush. When Moses saw it, he was amazed at the sight and he went to take a closer look, the voice of the Lord called out to him, ‘I am the Lord God of your ancestors—the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.’ Moses shook with terror and did not dare to look. “Then the Lord said to him, ‘Take off your sandals, for you are standing on holy ground. I have certainly seen the oppression of my people in Egypt. I have heard their groans and have come down to rescue them. Now go, for I am sending you back to Egypt. Verses 35: “So God sent back the same man his people had previously rejected when they demanded, ‘Who made you a ruler and judge over us?’ Through the angel who appeared to him in the burning bush, God sent Moses to be their ruler and saviour.

Moses had attempted something at age forty. At age forty he was convinced God had raised him as the saviour and deliverer to the children of Israel. He made an attempt to do it but it blew up on his face, he turned around and had to run away from Egypt as a fugitive. He ran to the land of Midian and for forty years he had nothing to do with God, had nothing to do with being a deliverer or a saviour and that was it. One day in the burning bush God picks him up again and God began to talk to him about delivering His people and God sent him back to the land of Egypt to be their ruler, their saviour, God sent him back to be their deliverer. 

How merciful God is. What was the difference between what Moses was at age forty and what he did at age eighty? Conviction. At age forty when he had that bad incident when he ran away conviction was depleted and his conviction was gone. When he met God on that mountain and God began to talk to him gradually, gradually, gradually his conviction began to build up and God sent him back to the place he had run away before. 

I trust God as you begin to work on your conviction and begin to cultivate your conviction the place you have failed before you will succeed in the name of Jesus, the people who have rejected you before you will go and thrive in what God has called you. Be strong, be courageous and begin to work on your conviction.

Saturday 19th September,2020. 

Hello and a lovely Saturday morning to you in the name of Jesus.

I trust God that God's grace and strength is available to you. You are rising above the complexities around your conviction in the name of Jesus.

We are going read Genesis 15:1-6 (NKJV)

15 After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.”2 But Abram said, “Lord God, what will You give me, seeing I go childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?” 3 Then Abram said, “Look, You have given me no offspring; indeed one born in my house is my heir!”4 And behold, the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “This one shall not be your heir, but one who will come from your own body shall be your heir.” 5 Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.”6 And he believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness. 

God had talked to Abraham. The first encounter we see, is a couple of years ago when Abraham was 75. God met him. He said I am going to make a great nation out of you and through your family will all the families of the earth will be blessed.

So part of the blessing of Abraham was that God was going to give him his own children and through his children, nations will come and years down the line. God had protected him, God had shielded him. He was a rich and respected man and things were growing for him but Abraham said "Lord How will you say that you are my shield and exceeding great reward when all I am seeing is childlessness". God was like "How can you be seeing childlessness when I have being telling you that you are going to have children?" He said Lord all I am seeing is childlessness and the reality of today is this; Eliezer, my servant is going to be my heir.

 The Bible says in Amos 3:3 " 3. Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?" 

Obviously, Abraham and God were not in agreement. Now, his name was Abram at this time because God was seeing Abraham have his own children. In fact, God said "Your own child from your own body" and Eliezer wasn't that person. Abraham said "Lord, I can't see this child." Until we rise to the point where we can see what God is saying, when we have the same mind with Christ and with God, we will struggle with our conviction.

It will bring complexities to our conviction. Those divergent views. You cannot have one mind and God have another mind. We must be on the same page with God. How did God resolve this for Abraham? He brought him out. He said "look at the stars, can you see the stars? Begin to count them. Begin to say it so shall my seed be." what was God doing? God was recalibrating  his mind so that Abraham and God could have the same mind.

If we are going to see our conviction prevail over the complexities, worries and doubts that come, we must understand that we must keep working on our conviction, that you are convinced about something is in the morning doesn't mean that you will be convinced about it in the night. That you are convinced about something today doesn't mean that two or three years down the line you will still be convinced about the same thing.

It is important to work on our conviction. That is the way we prevail over the complexities of this world.

Friday 18th September, 2020. 

 Hello and a great Friday morning to you in the name of Jesus. 

I am sure your week has been going well and we trust God for a wonderful weekend in the name of Jesus. Our Faith will raise over complexities in Jesus name .  Your Faith will rise over the complexities of life in Jesus name.

From our discussion this week, I am sure you have seen an understanding of how the complexities of life come to invade our conviction and try to override it.

The role of the mind cannot be over emphasized. James 1:8 says "A double minded person is unstable in all his ways. Such a person will not receive anything from God ". 

The confusion around our faith we have said before is what we call " DOUBT "you and this confusion come as we interact with life, questions begin to arise, challenges begin to bombard our faith and if we are not careful what we believe at some point, we will stop believing again and we will get into doubt.

We will read a few scriptures this morning John 1:36 (NLT)" 36 As Jesus walked by, John looked at him and declared, “Look! There is the Lamb of God!” 

 John the Baptist was speaking and he said take a look at that man. That man is the lamb of God, the saviour of the world and messiah. We would read again Matt 11:2-3(NLT) " 2 John the Baptist, who was in prison, heard about all the things the Messiah was doing. So he sent his disciples to ask Jesus, 3 “Are you the Messiah we’ve been expecting,[a] or should we keep looking for someone else?” 

What is going on here? John the Baptist that said just a few years before " That is the Lamb of God that takes the sin of the world". John was so convinced about who Jesus was, people were following Jesus He said there is nothing wrong with it. He must increase and I will decrease. My Joy is that He is doing well. I came as His forerunner but years later some bad experiences had happened. John the Baptist was in prison, he was hearing everything going on outside and Jesus didn't do anything about that and while that experiences was going on he was feeling bad he said " I am not sure this man is the man again". So he sent a message to him. Are you sure you are the right person? Because in the midst of this experience I am going through you should be able to do something about it and Jesus said to him " Go and tell John what is going on here".

In the midst of our experiences if we are not careful our mind will interpret our experiences in a way that is out of the will of God. In John's mind, Jesus the Messiah had abandoned him and he began to grow in doubt and he was affecting his conviction, he was affecting his faith, he was getting confused but what Jesus did, He sent him a message to let him know Listen;  I am the same yesterday, today and I will be the same forever.

Don't let your experience confuse you about the reality of Jesus, about the power of God and the things God wants to do in your life. It is important that you fixed your mind on the things of God.

Peter was writing and Peter will understand because he knows what it means to deny Jesus when things look tough so in 1 Pet 1:13(RSV) " Therefore guard up your mind" i.e. put your mind together, carry your mind together, don't let doubt pull you in different directions, don't let fear, anxiety and worry pull you in different directions, put your mind together.

You want to raise over the complexities of conviction, pull your mind together on the things of God and watch how God will manifest in your life.
