  • The Art of Being Engaged, Yet Detached

The art of being engaged yet detached is a paradox that many aspire to master. It is the delicate balance between being fully present in the moment with whatever you happen to be doing and being able to step back and observe without getting caught up in the emotions or the desire for specific outcomes.

This art is what sets great leaders, performers, and thinkers apart from the rest. And this art is what sets you apart from living with stress, worry and anxiety. It is the path to a more peaceful and happier life. By balancing our emotions and remaining present in the moment, we can make better decisions and respond more effectively to situations.

  • Rules Are Meant to Change

Society's rules and values are constantly evolving, and what seems acceptable today may be viewed very differently in the future. As we evolve as a society, we must be willing to reexamine our practices and beliefs and make changes accordingly. One way to do this is to turn to the wisdom of ancient philosophies, like the Yogi philosophy, that reminds us that the human mind and spirit are constantly evolving through time. What once seemed appropriate or necessary is now seen as cruel and barbaric, and we must be open to new ways of thinking and being.

It's okay to change our minds and evolve as individuals and as a society. We should have opinions and beliefs, but we must also be willing to examine them and make changes as we learn and grow. Just because a rule or practice was acceptable in the past doesn't mean it has to be acceptable today. Changing your opinion is perfectly fine. It's natural to form opinions about things, and as we learn and grow, it's also natural to adjust those opinions. We must be willing to challenge the status quo and strive for a better, more compassionate world for all.

  • The Wise Learn from Both

  • Be Kind Even When They Are Not

It's not always easy to be kind, especially when faced with rude people, but it's worth it in the end. Being kind to others can make a world of difference, not only will it open doors for you but it will also leave you feeling more fulfilled and content with yourself. And remember that being kind doesn't mean being a pushover or weak or allowing people to treat you poorly, but rather responding to negativity with grace and empathy. In the end, choosing to be kind can create a more harmonious and positive world for all of us.

  • Look at the Big Picture

Life can be tough, and there's no denying that. And having a better understanding of how life operates could help you navigate the difficulties and hardships that come your way. By taking a step back and looking at situations from a wider perspective, you gain a broader understanding and a larger picture of the circumstances at hand.

Every experience, every book you read, and every interaction you have with other people, every one of these are your teachers. It's up to you to examine them closely, testing them with your own hands, senses, and understanding until you have gained firsthand knowledge.

Continue on your path and discover the valuable teachings imparted to you. Through each experience, you will develop a more profound understanding of life. Remember to seek out your own truth and proof along the way, as this will enable you to uncover deeper insights and personal growth. Trust yourself and have faith that you will find the answers you seek.

  • Play Your Part and Enjoy the Work

We have this notion of achieving spiritual growth through isolation from society and practicing long hours of meditation. The image of a person who retires to a remote location, spending days sitting and meditating.

But the Yogis differ, they explain that the path to spiritual fulfillment does not lie solely in meditation and retreat from the world. While these practices may lead to certain levels of advancement, ultimately, one must also experience life and play their allotted role in the world. If you find yourself in a specific place with unique desires and dispositions, it is important to embrace those qualities and fulfill your responsibilities.

Of course, one has to also incorporate moments of silence and reflection into their daily life, but it is important not to completely withdraw from worldly duties and obligations.

  • See Them for What They Are

The idea of a supreme being in the heavens who judges our every action and decision? How can this being both love us unconditionally and condemn us to hell for misbehaving? If this being is all-powerful, how can there also be a devil with the ability to defy him?

Religion, like any other story, is a collection of fantastic tales that illustrate the principles and values that a particular religion aims to instill in its followers. Such stories are designed to capture the imagination and help people remember the lessons they teach. However, it's important to recognize that these stories are not necessarily factual. In many ways, religion is like a fiction book that uses storytelling to impart valuable life lessons.

  • The Absolute (God) Is Like the Sun

The Yogis reject the notion of referring to the Supreme Intelligence responsible for the creation of all things as God, as the term tends to evoke the image of a human-like deity with personal attributes. Instead, they prefer to employ the term Absolute, as it more accurately conveys the true nature of this entity. The Absolute encompasses everything without exception and exists beyond the realm of relativity.

And they find it helpful to use the analogies of the sun and the ocean to explain the relationship between the Absolute and all beings.

As the sun is reflected in the ocean, and in every tiny drop of the ocean; so is the Absolute, reflected in each manifestation as a soul.

  • We Must Take Care of Our Home

Nature has always been a crucial part of our lives, providing us with the resources we need to survive and thrive. However, our relentless pursuit of progress and development has often led us to neglect the importance of nature and the environment. This disconnection from the natural world has resulted in devastating consequences such as climate change, pollution, and loss of biodiversity.

But the concept of nature goes beyond just the natural world. It also includes everything that humans create. This encompasses technological advancements, buildings, and even plastic. Everything around us is alive and vibrating, and this is a fundamental truth.

According to the Yogis, everything is natural and this belief challenges us to take responsibility for our actions and create a more harmonious relationship with the environment. By recognizing our place in the natural world and approaching our creations with responsibility and respect, we can build a more sustainable future.

  • Life is Omnipresent. All is Alive

The world we live in is filled with countless mysteries, and one of the most intriguing is the idea that everything around us is alive, even the metals and materials of which a Formula 1 car is made of. It may sound strange at first, but this belief has been around for centuries, and there is a growing body of evidence to support it.

Take, for example, the branch of the Yogi philosophy known as Gnani Yoga, which deals with the great questions of life. The Yogis explain that everything in the world is alive, even things that seem to be dead. According to this belief, every atom, molecule, plant, animal, or planet is an aggregation of organized unit forces held in place by stronger forces.

The idea that everything is alive may seem strange and even unsettling to some, but it can also be liberating. It reminds us that we are all interconnected, and that we share a bond with all living things. It encourages us to be more mindful of our actions and their impact on the world around us. And it inspires us to see the beauty and wonder in even the most ordinary objects.
