In this week's Whisky Tasting Game Ralph's lost his sense of smell leaving an 'open goal'. Nathy strikes and detects, amongst other things, a sweaty palm.

This is the SEASON FINALE of  The Whisky Tasting Game !! At the end of this we will know who has won the series our £150 prize whisky. In a departure for the format we recorded this episode live and in person at Glossop's premiere Irish Bar, McO'Connollys.

Let's not beat around the bush, we're all fairly inebriated by the end of this... caught up in the sunshine at the end of the summer, the significance of finishing the series, and excitement about all hanging out together for the first time in many, many months.

Includes a lesson on how to stop cats peeing on fake grass, we learn that Ivy (Ralph's daughter) "needs a poo", and guest tasting notes from Lidia Facchinello. 

The whisky is smoky, but is it mechanical or organic? Pears, apples, or gooseberries? Briney, but is it pickled onions or gherkins?

The Return of The Whisky Tasting Game after an unplanned break mid-season break to accommodate house moves, baby arrivals, and the end of the summer.

The dram we taste in this episode is subjected to the sweaty palm test, and Nathy's verse "Whisky my Bouba" sees the poetry stakes reach new heights. Meanwhile Ralph reveals his homemade Islay blend and the political allegiances of the whisky-drinking public are revealed.

Expect winter spice, white pepper, a bit of a fruit and a slight whiff of smoke.

This week in The Whisky Tasting Game... It's as elusive as an offshore wind farm in the murk and evokes memories of baking with mother.

After the lads were shocked with their first blended whisky last week, what will this week bring? It's actually a continuation of the same recording session and I introduced two bonus whiskies.... so apologies if we sound a bit tipsy by the end of it.

As with all the episodes, the title is a cryptic crossword clue giving you an idea of what we might be tasting this week. Ralph's idea for the title was "Alarm at strange way thyme stock and ace volunteer force are blended", while Nathy suggested "Supermarket Jingle, mid range bike & Australian City"....  can you crack the code and figure out what we're tasting?
