An exercise bike, received as a gift, does no good simply sitting in the garage. While grateful for it, we need to add effort to our appreciation, for the greatest effect. Peter calls believers to add effort to the free grace we have received. Dr. John explains that as God has granted us everything we need for a holy life, we have a part to play in our faith made practical.
