AI can now make almost anything — 100 logos from one sentence, a song in seconds, three times as many books published as before ChatGPT. But when making gets cheap, judgment gets priceless, and the only thing separating the good from the forgettable is someone with the taste to tell them apart. Dan Pink breaks down why taste is the one skill AI can't replicate, and the three rules for building it.

When we sit down to do great work, we often walk away having done only a fraction of it. Then we blame ourselves — our discipline, our willpower, our "focus."
That's a mistake -- and it's holding us back.
I've spent nearly 30 years studying motivation and human performance, and if there's one state that separates the work I'm proud of from the work I just grind through, it's flow — those stretches where time disappears and the work almost pulls itself out of you. Here's the good news: flow isn't magic. It's mechanics. And mechanics can be learned.
In this video I'll walk you through the exact system I use to drop into flow on demand — the same approach that's behind all seven of my books. No tricks, no hustle-culture nonsense. Just a handful of moves you can run every single day.
Fair warning: this one asks something of you. Watch it the way it's meant to be watched — full screen, phone away, one tab open. Think of it as your first rep.

About this video:
Some of the smartest advice you've ever heard is quietly steering you wrong.
David Epstein and I sat down and traded the 14 pieces of "wisdom" we think are doing the most damage right now. Things like never quit, play to your strengths, keep your options open, pursue happiness, specialize early. If you've built your life around any of these, this one's worth your time.

What if the way we motivate people is mostly wrong?
That was the argument at the heart of Drive. But fifteen years later, too many companies, schools, and families stubbornly cling to the old ways.
So, I made a video revisiting the book and highlighting the seven ideas that still matter most.
The core lesson: You don’t install motivation in people. You create the conditions for it.

In October 2005, a soccer player took a microphone into a locker room and said something that changed his country.
I've been thinking about that moment all month, because as I watched the World Cup unfold across North America, I kept noticing things that had nothing to do with the score. So this video is about three things I learned — about bias, about joy, and about how quickly "them" can become "us." It turns out the world's biggest sporting event might be the world's best mirror.
