Conner Boyack is best known for the bestselling Tuttle Twins book series and is President of Libertas Institute. I am excited to have Conner on the podcast today, not because of the Tuttle Twins, but because he wrote a history book that tells the true story of America in a way kids will understand. None of the history books being used today teach about the ideas that led to America's founding. They only teach factoids and none of them explain why kids today should care about any of it. They don't even attempt to make history relatable to our modern times or give examples of why history should matter to kids. If we're supposed to learn from history and not just about it, then we have to talk about the different ideas, philosophies and influences that led the colonists to pick a fight with the world's greatest superpower and what followed.

I learned so many things, I was never taught in school as well. In the season we are in, we have to be discerning and activate our spiritual discernment.

A portion of the word of the year for 2022 talked about discernment. Discernement is a gift God has given to us. We need to use this gift to look at things in the natural from a heavenly perspective. Charles Spurgeon said, "Discerning is not just knowing the difference between right and wrong, but knowing the difference between right and almost right." Hubie Synn one day was led to speak to a man in the airport named Jonathan Cahn who had yet to write the best-selling book, The Harbinger. Hubie and I discuss how this divine connection changed his ministry and his walk with God. 1 Corinthians 2:9 says: "What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived"— the things God has prepared for those."…. God is preparing His Bride for things we have never seen or heard. It's not going to be the way He has moved in the past, He is doing a new thing. But we need to make room for Him to move. Just as King Josiah realized that he was not following, he tore down the high places and brought the people back to the heart of worshiping God. God is bringing us, His church back to a place where we need to "clean house." We need to heal our hearts, tear down our walls, and unpack our boxes of old mindsets and renew a covenant with God.

As a Pastor, I can attest to the first hand issues within the church on raising disciples. Today's conversation on the podcast with Dennis Allen is a good one.
