  • 9. Matthew Goldstein

Twelve years ago, Matthew was succeeding in his corporate career in the retail Industry. However, Matthew could feel a calling that his life had more to offer. He found himself putting money over happiness, and knew that a major

change was needed in his life.

As he began dipping his toe in the philanthropic world as a suicide hotline volunteer, he could feel his life’s purpose and work begin to unfold. He knew there was more, and his background  in corporate retail told him that others did

too, but they just didn’t know how.

The need was clear, and the desire to give was too, so

Matthew built the bridge – Besa. Matthew believes if you lift one, you lift us all. Besa was built helping the community it serves to find volunteer opportunities and giving back as an everyday part of life.

Today, Besa serves over 200 nonprofits around central Ohio. In this episode, Matthew talks about the importance of community and finding purpose in our daily lives and the work that we do.

  • 8. Ben Levey

Today I sit down with Ben Levey,

the Founder and Executive Director of The Final Third Foundation (F3) and The
    Likoni Community Football League (LCFL).

From a young age, Ben heard a whisper

that “something’s not right in the world”, and he felt called to help. That whisper lead him to one of the poorest regions in Eastern Africa of Mombasa, Kenya. There Ben worked with local soccer coaches to form an organization that
supports hundreds of children each year through the power of the game.

While overseeing the LCFL from abroad, Ben brought his passion for sport and development back home to Columbus, Ohio. He has founded, managed and operated several sports and development nonprofit organizations, events and programs, including F3 Soccer & Literacy Program, F3 Environmental Awareness Program, Columbus Nations

Cup, Columbus East FC, and Power of Play events. Ben is also the Director of Columbus East Soccer Association. Ben and the F3 team hope to develop and expand on its current programs, events, and projects to increase the number of
children and communities they can positively impact in Columbus, Ohio, Mombasa, Kenya, and other areas of the world.

  • 7. The Kitchen - Anne Boninsegna and Jen Lindsey

In 2013, Anne Boninsegna and Jen Lindsey had a vision. They could see how food was such a connecting point in their personal relationships, as well as the community around them. It was more than just the dining experience, it was about building relationships and making memories. They decided to launch a concept, unfamiliar with those around them. A place people come together to cook, eat, and bask in each other’s company. A participatory dining experience like none other.

In this episode, Anne and Jen talk about

what it was like to launch a concept, not yet known to the market, and by using a financial platform to raise capital also very unfamiliar. These two amazing entrepreneurs share their stories of grit, persistence, and what it means to
    have a healthy business partnership.

Today, The Kitchen has two versatile event spaces that bring people together to create memories through food. Their

venues are perfect for corporate events, weddings, birthday celebrations and more.
