  • 5. Kelsey Lensman

Kelsey Lensman is a normal girl with big dreams, and even bigger actions.  Kelsey graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Sports Medicine.  Original plans

were to attend graduate school for Physical Therapy.  However, during her senior year, she felt a pull on her heart strings telling her she had a different mission. After a life changing year of training to step onto a bodybuilding
stage, it led Kelsey to understand each of us has a world of unlimited growth and opportunities.  Kelsey says “We only need to seek them out and take advantage of them”.  She realized that true transformation comes from multiple areas: nutrition, training, mindset and community.

As a result of her own journey, she founded EmpowHER Fitness that coaches women all around the country in their nutrition, fitness, and mindset. Kelsey also runs EmpowHER Fitness Events, which are all-women’s international strength events that challenge women to step out of their comfort zone and show themselves they’re stronger than they think. Her unique approach to fitness has helped

hundreds of women get results, grow their mindset, and become strong, confident versions of themselves.

In today’s episode I sit down with my friend, Dr. Jessica Bennett. Dr. Bennett  has a deeply seeded passion for teaching literacy to children who learn differently.

Jessicahas a Ph.D. from The Ohio State University in Special Education with a focus on using structured literacy for children with reading disabilities. Her Masters is in Deaf Education and her bachelor’s is in Psychology–also from OSU.

As a licensed intervention specialist preK-12, Dr. Bennett has been teaching since 2005. Dr. Bennett has been training and coaching teachers since 2011 at The Ohio State University, Battelle for Kids, Otterbein University, and throughout the state of Ohio.

Jessica also  writes curriculum, conducts research, and trains the program managers at the Final Third Foundation (501C3) as an Educational Specialist [link]; is the author of Mindful Miru [link];  and is the host of the Mindful Literacy Podcast.

Jessica was deeply impacted by her trip to Mombasa, Kenya in December 2023, where she got to see firsthand where F3 got its start. There she had the opportunity to train the coaches of LCFL so that they could start Football and

Literacy for the kids in their community, which they did in April of 2024!

  • 3. Andy Billman

    Today’s guest is Andy

Billman. Andy believes in the power of saying “yes”. Over his lifetime, he’s
faced various obstacles that he reframed into opportunities he could learn and
grow from. His most recent “yes” was to a stage-three malignant brain cancer
diagnosis in 2018. Faced with this mountainous challenge, Andy’s past, present,
and future crystallized into a sense of clarity most people do not achieve in a
    lifetime.

Andy is the author of Setbacks

to Comebacks: Saying Yes! To Overcoming Challenges and Embracing Opportunities.
The former President of Worthington Cylinders, a multibillion dollar global
manufacturing leader, Andy now focuses on his company, Arise Industrial
    Manufacturing.

    Andy’s mission these days is

to help people find hope and take action by saying yes to winning at the game
of life, especially in times when it feels easier to give in, withdraw, and
sleep away the pain, fear, and overwhelm. Instead of saying “It’s over,” Andy
says, “It’s the beginning. It’s what you make of each moment.”

Thank you for listening, I hope you enjoy my conversation with Andy Billman.

  • 2. Coss Marte

In 2009, Coss Marte was sent to jail as the leader of a multi-million dollar cocaine operation. He was also grossly overweight and warned by his physician that his current lifestyle, if left unchecked, would likely kill him. Faced with this grim prognosis, Coss started to get in shape using the tools he had—his prison cell and his own body weight. Within six months, he lost 70 pounds and replicated his successful formula of body weight exercises with 20 other people incarcerated alongside him. After he was released from prison, Coss launched ConBody a “prison style” bootcamp that hires formerly incarcerated individuals to teach fitness classes. Since the launch of his company he’s gained over 25,000+ clients , supported many folks coming home from prison, and has been featured in over 200 major media outlets such as NBC, CNN, The New York Times, TED Talks, and Men’s Fitness. Coss has also won major pitch competitions such as Pitch for Good by TOM’s shoes and the YPO shark tank competition, which combined raised $350,000.
