Balancing art, work, family, and all of life’s demands isn’t easy — but setting creative boundaries can make the difference between burnout and a sustainable art practice. In this episode of Daring Creatively, artist Korynn Morrison shares vulnerable reflections and practical insights on how to protect your creative time and energy while juggling jobs, raising kids, or caring for loved ones.
Discover why boundaries aren’t about shutting people out, but about making space for what matters most: your art, your wellbeing, and your sense of self. If you’ve ever struggled to carve out time for creativity in the chaos of daily life, this episode is for you.
This episode is part of a special mother–daughter collaboration. Each week, the cover artwork you see is created by my daughter, Harlyn — adding her own creative touch to the journey we’re sharing here on Daring Creatively.

INSPIRATION...
Where does it come from, outside of us or from within?
What conditions are necessary for it to strike?
When it happens, how do we keep it flowing?
These are the questions I asked my fellow creatives.

Inspiration floats around us energetically, waiting for us to realign with a beginner's mindset. At this point, creative flow is as simple as plucking fun out of thin air. This week has led me down a path of creative déjà vu, remembering what I once knew but somehow forgot. This social media-free life I’ve come to respect has allowed me the space to listen to all the studio behaviors that truly FEEL GOOD.
I can't wait to share some of the paintings that have been birthed during this state of bliss. A new blog article goes live next week, featuring all the behind-the-scenes video footage from inside the studio.
(Be sure to leave a comment so we can start some creative discussion!)

As the excitement builds for my debut solo exhibition at Curatorial + Co., I've intentionally distanced myself from my paintings in the weeks leading up to the opening. In this week's episode, I reflect on one painting in particular, "Hand Me Another Cup To Fill," and the vulnerable lesson it taught me.

When was the last time you truly said “WOW.”
In the lead up to my solo exhibition at Curatorial + Co I have come to realise that the undercurrent to this entire show has been a reclamation of inner joy. The overflowing part of self that gets corked and pushed down for other peoples comfort.

Welcome back for the first episode of 2024!
Time is ticking and deadlines are looming in the lead up to my Sydney Solo Exhibition at Curatorial + Co.
Let’s talk about what happens when exhibition overwhelm takes over…
This week, self doubt creeped its way into the studio and shadowed my every move. Luckily I had an intuitive nudge that encouraged me to shift my thinking.
Continue to join me throughout the process as I produce the work for my upcoming Solo Exhibition “Echo: An invitation to sit with self.”
Coming in 2024 to Curatorial + Co. Sydney.

This week in the studio I came to the conclusion that sometimes the obvious choice is not always the best. Materials often dictate the direction and pace at which our work unfolds. This conversation is about taking big risks in service of the greater mission.
