  • Psalm 20
In Psalm 20, the "you" being prayed for isn't David or the worshiper but the promised messianic king, fulfilled in Jesus: his victory over sin, death, and hell becomes ours by faith, since our fate is in lockstep with his. That grounds three things: we rejoice because the King did all the work, we're confident because God's own name is staked on our salvation, and we trust him alone because everything else we could lean on has an expiration date.

  • 26-09-20 Meet Kevin Schwartz
Meet Kevin Schwartz Faith Debate: Sunday, September 20th, 2026 (09/27/26 on 930 WFMD in Frederick, Maryland) For 5 straight shows The Faith Debate asked if AI's bringing the End Times? That makes for a total of 7 shows in '26 examining eschatological alarm about technology, wondering if it's from faithful Bible reading or an overreaction. This week shifts gears, but first here's some more about "Artificial Intelligence". Some point to The Book of Revelation's image of the beast, with economic control & widespread surveillance, as a framework thru which to interpret AI's trajectory. Others invoke Daniel ("many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase") as prophetic foreshadowing of the tech explosion. The panel distinguished between legitimate eschatological vigilance and date-setting sensationalism (the church has an embarrassing history of the latter). Postmillenial & Amillennial views frame the answers differently from Dispensational & Premillennial views. Those certain that AI is the mark-of-the-beast are undiscerning, but so too could be those saying AI is just a neutral tool. This episode is part 1 of a 4-part conversation on the subject of spiritual visions/apparitions. The Faith Debate can be found at wfmd.com, ChristianPodcastCommunity.org, & most podcast platforms - including SermonAudio & Odysee. Videos are found in many of these same places, plus on Rumble. Find links for all of these outlets at householdoffaithinchrist.com. Panel: Troy Skinner. Founder, Household of Faith in Christ Daniel Razvi. Pastor, Conquered By Love Elijah Dirksen. Student, Whitfield Theological Seminary Kevin Schwartz. Gentleman with dramatic stories of visions/visitations

  • 7 The End Is Near—But What Does Near Mean? Mark 13:28-31
In this in-depth expository sermon on Mark 13:28–31, we examine Jesus' parable of the fig tree and the meaning of His statement that His coming is "near." What does "near" actually mean? Can Christians know when Christ will return? What is the significance of the fig tree, summer, harvest, judgment, and the phrase "this generation will certainly not pass away"? Rather than trying to calculate the date of Christ's return, Jesus calls His followers to something deeper: certainty, readiness, encouragement, and confidence in His word. My sermons are the fruit of nearly 30 years of pastoral ministry, biblical counseling, formal seminary training, and a lifelong passion for God's Word. Since childhood, I've been drawn to the beauty and power of expository preaching—opening Scripture verse by verse and applying it to real life. After graduating from Moody Bible Institute, I spent the next 27 years serving as a youth pastor, senior pastor, church planter, and host of the Food For Your Soul radio broadcast. Along the way, I also earned a Master of Sacred Literature and a Doctor of Religious Studies. For more content from D. Richard Ferguson, visit TreasuringGod.com. • Hoosier Hills Recovery Sunday — The New Birth | John 3:1-8
In John 3:1-8, Jesus teaches Nicodemus about the absolute necessity of the new birth. In this message, Greg Smallwood examines the biblical truth that spiritual transformation is not the result of human effort, religious status, or self-improvement, but a supernatural work of God through the Holy Spirit. This message connects the teaching of Jesus in John 3 with the practical ministry of Hoosier Hills Recovery, showing how faith in Christ brings hope and restoration to broken lives. Testimonies from those involved in the ministry demonstrate the transforming power of God's grace as lives move from despair to hope, destructive habits are replaced with a foundation of faith, and identity is found in Christ rather than past mistakes. The sermon emphasizes the limitations of religion and self-effort and points to the new birth as essential for entering the kingdom of God. True spiritual life comes from God, and salvation is His free gift through Jesus Christ. This message is both biblical and pastoral, calling listeners to consider their need for the new birth, receive the gift of salvation, and walk in the newness of life that Christ provides.
