According to Forbes, The Super Bowl is the most wagered-on sporting event in the US. It's been estimated by the American Gaming Association that Americans could have wagered $23.1 billion on Sunday's game. Final numbers are not out yet but in 2023, $16 billion was wagered on Super Bowl 57. Meanwhile, one lawmaker on capitol hill wants to bring in the lottery to Utah. Jay Evensen, Opinion Editor for the Deseret News joins the show to discuss his take on gambling in the US and in Utah.

Child care spaces in Utah could expand significantly if a new proposal is passed. Representative Susan Pulsipher calls into the show as she speaks to her proposal that would let unlicensed daycare providers expand their openings from 6 to 8. There's a recent report that show we are in a child care crisis with only sufficient space for 36% of all children under six whose parents work... but the folks who issued that very report -- don't like this proposal. Jenna Williams with Voices of Utah Children joins the show to discuss why they are against this proposal.
