The Utah State Legislature has unveiled a bill that could make teaching in the state a six-figure profession, but it's just one of many bills aimed at increasing teacher retention. The bill could provide up to 20k pay raises each for top Utah teachers. However, this would mean teachers would be scored and compared in a fight for the raises. In another round of congressional hearings focused on the negative effects of social media, members of congress spoke with CEO's of TikTok, Meta, and others. As the meeting went on, the hearing devolved into accusations and big emotions. D2 talk about what kind of tools are already accessible to parents, and how they manage internet access with their own children. 

The state of Utah could require cellphone and tablet manufacturers to enable obscenity filters on devices used by minors, under a proposal that received initial support from a Senate committee on Wednesday. Does the bill have a future in Utah? The bill's sponsor Sen. Todd Weiler joins D2 to talk about the bill might work in practice.  

Officials are warning people to stay off lake ice, because warmer temps mean you're at a greater risk to fall through the ice. Earlier this week a 20-year-old man lost his life after he fell through the ice trying to rescue a woman who fell through the ice at Settlement Canyon Reservoir in Tooele County. Dave and Debbie speak with Devan Chavez with Utah State Parks about Ice dangers and tips to be aware of to stay safe on the ice.
