We've had a brutal dose of cold weather and snow storms this week.  It's going to continue through the weekend... but this isn't just a Utah problem... millions are getting blasted by winter. Air Travel is being affected in a big way. Many states under alert for extreme weather. A threat for turnout is being posed for the Iowa caucus as its expected to be in the negatives. Much of Utah is covered in on-and-off snow storms, and it's affecting everyone in the valley. Measures are being taken to protect the state's unhoused populations as Code Blues have been issued across much of the state which open resources once temperatures hit 15 degrees. Salt Lake County Mayor Jenny Wilson helps explain how government entities are used during code blue alerts to help the homeless.

Right now Utah teachers get $175 a year to buy rewards or a few supplies for their students. When the legislature starts this Tuesday a Utah lawmaker wants to reward teachers with a $500 tax credit for out-of-pocket expenses. Renee Pinknee, President, of the Utah Education Association joins the show to discuss if a teacher tax credit is the best way to support teachers with expenses.
