Since a Nephi woman discovered her house's radon levels gave her terminal cancer, radon testing kits have flown from the shelves. The radioactive substance collected in her basement and gave her the equivalent of three cigarette packs a day of lung deterioriation. Ladd Egan from KSL 5 TV covered the story and details how Utahns can check their own homes and respond to higher radon levels.

The Nonprofit organization Latinos in Action is working to to raise Latino students' grades and academic involvement. Karen Avila of the Spanish Fork chapter joins the show to explains how LIA aims to help strengthen Latino community and bridge the achievement gap. Morgan Beckstrom is the national champion for rodeo barrel racing, and she shares how she won the top trophy for the event. Mayor Mike Mendenhall of Spanish Fork speaks to a new mental and physical health initiative in Spanish Fork. Mayor Mendenhall also discusses a proposal on capitol hill that would require golf courses to share their water use.  Unlike other utah towns, Spanish Fork residents pay per gallon of gray water and the golf course runs off of an efficient, automated system. Utah's record snowfall has raised the Great Salt Lake a foot, but that's nine feet short of what the Lake needs to survive. Dave and Debbie discuss how Utah has treated the lake like a line of credit, and now the state is taking action on the edge of its collapse. Rare earth minerals like lithium exist in the lake and add pressure to conservation efforts. BYU Professor of aquatic ecology Ben Abbott, who helped compile the report that predicted the Lake's 5 year lifespan, joins the show to discuss which conservation efforts will help the Lake most.

What do you get when dozens of lawyers enter Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City? A clinic to expunge the criminal record of over 300 Utahns. The Utah Jazz and local leaders collaborated with the Clean Slate Utah Foundation to help set up the event. Salt Lake City will host the 2023 All-Star game in February, and leaders say this event sets Utah apart as an example for other states to follow.
