President Biden has announced that the US will step up its weapon shipments to Ukraine with 31 M1 Abrams tanks. This is a big escalation in what the US is providing Ukraine, since before now the Biden administration avoided sending planes and tanks to not anger President Putin. The Abrams is considered one of the most advanced tanks in the world, and 31 units approaches the size of a Ukrainian tank platoon, according to the President.
