Teachers have a list of demands to feel safe in the classroom, in the 9 am hour we dissected a letter 85 teachers sent to the Canyon District listing their safety demands -- which seem reasonable. Yesterday we spoke to teacher Wendy Moss who posted an online petition listing their demands .and there's a rally going on outside the capitol with teachers asking to be protected in class... but the question is.. What will these demand cost and who will pay for it?

The Logan School District has announced a "soft opening," with some students attending school in the morning and some in the afternoon. They plan to reassess after a few weeks. We're asking what listeners think of this idea.

The Logan School District has decided on a SOFT OPENING.  Classes will begin on August 19th with a temporary “soft opening” schedule for about a month. Students will either attend their classes every week day in the morning, or in the afternoon. The School Board will get back together September 8 to see how it is going and see if they'll keep at it.

A rally for safe schools is taking place at the Utah State Capitol. Teachers have a list of demands they'd like to see met before teachers return. We KSL Newsradio's early morning reporter, Mary Richards, on the line to give us insight live from the rally.

As Utah schools discuss their re-opening strategies, teachers and parents air their concerns. We're taking calls and airing those concerns.

We speak with a local teacher, Wendy Moss, who is speaking up about plans to re-open schools. She says she's worried about not having the right protective equipment, and is raising questions about whether or not health officials are being included in planning. She's got a Change.org petition that lists a ton of concerns. Thousands have signed.
