  • The Power of Reading Super Fast… and How It Changed My Life

In this video, I want to share the power of reading super fast and how it’s changed my life.
Just a heads up. You might want to watch this video a few times. It’s that important.
I want to focus on the benefit of reading a lot and reading super fast.
I think it’s underrated and is one of the most powerful skills you can have.
But you need the motivation first.
One of the key skills is to be able to identify the main argument or thesis in a book and then connect all other support to that core.
Super-fast reading is like a superpower allowing you to consume much more information and potentially find more insight and wisdom.
Another skill is to discern the quality of what you’re reading.
Most books ramble with complexity, shallow thinking and intellectualism.
However the exceptional thinking can communicate clearly, simply, yet with profound and wide application.
Many people underestimate the complexity of business and investing.
Warren Buffett shares a story of how he was a prolific reader as a youth and devoured all the business and investing books he could. This allowed him to have a foundation for investing and business that I think he built his entire career on.
But reading a wide range of books can help understand that complexity and give you an advantage as an investor.
Super-fast reading also can have amazing impacts on all areas of one’s life.
The compound effect of learning is profound as it helps you learn faster and deeper.

Ark Invest has a $7000 TSLA price target by end of 2024, yet they’re selling TSLA stock like crazy.
In just over the past 4 months (from Oct 1, 2019 until Feb 7, 2020) they’ve sold off over 2/3 of their TSLA position.
In this video, I want to take a deeper look into this seemingly crazy behavior.
On 9/30/19, Ark Invest held 1,172,610 shares of TSLA. TSLA share price was $240.87
On 12/31/19, Ark Invest held 721,988 shares of TSLA. TSLA share price was $418.33
They sold 38.4% of their TSLA holdings during Q4 of 2019.
They sold 450,622 shares of TSLA during Q4 2019.
First month or so of 2020:
    As of 2/7/20 ($747.07):
    ARKK - 292,084
    ARKQ - 28,922
    ARKW - 63,488
    384494 shares
So from Jan 1, 2020 until Feb 7, 2020, Ark sold 337494 shares of TSLA. Feb 7 stock price $748.07
Ark Invest sold 46.7% of their TSLA holdings from Jan 1 to Feb 7, 2020.
From Oct 1, 2019 (1.17m shares) to Feb 7, 2020 (385k shares), Ark Invest sold 788,116 shares of TSLA. 67.2% of their TSLA holdings.
I just over 4 months they’ve liquidated over 2/3 of their TSLA position!
You’d think if they believe TSLA really is going to $7000 in 2024, then they wouldn’t be liquidating so much of their TSLA shares
    What’s going on?
The key principles at play here are portfolio management and diversification.
Ark Invest says they’re taking profits and simply doing portfolio management.
However, let’s look at Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger’s view on portfolio management theory and diversification for professional investors. This stands in stark contrast to the view and values of Wall Street today.

SpaceX president Gwynne Shotwell shared SpaceX is planning on spinning off Starlink and IPO’ing it.
In this video, I’ll share my initial thoughts on the upcoming Starlink IPO
Starlink's goal is to cover Earth with high-speed, low-latency, and affordable internet access.
According to current government documents, Starlink may consist of nearly 12,000 satellites by the end of 2027.
“Right now, we are a private company, but Starlink is the right kind of business that we can go ahead and take public,” Shotwell reportedly said. “That particular piece is an element of the business that we are likely to spin out and go public.”
Shotwell said two years ago “it will cost the company about $10 billion or more” to build the Starlink network.
Is it a 10x generational company?
    1) disrupting large market
    2) significantly better product and ability to defend superiority
    3) world-class execution
    4) clear and probable path to 10x valuation in 5-10 years
In this video, I also answer questions from the following viewers:

“Dave, great video and thanks for sharing. Your dedication to investment education in an ethical and responsible way is greatly appreciated. I for one would really enjoy how you would spend that 100 hours of research on a company before you buy the first shares if the research proves promising. What are the typical sources you use? How far back do you go in a company's financials? How much weight do you give the product reputation vs the leadership's track record or unique vision?”

“Dave, First of all, thank you so much for your daily video. They have provided a ton of knowledges to a new investor like me. You have mentioned that you would like to build a YouTube channel for audiences who invest with deep analysis and you would like to teach quantitive and qualitative skills. I “bravo” you on that. I wonder if you plan to open a webinar course to teach us those skills with blackboard and charts, and show us where you can find your information resource. Many thanks in advance!!”

In this video I look at the different types of stock manipulation that goes on in the stock market.
Long term stock manipulation (over 1 year)
Mid term stock manipulation (3-12 months)
Short term stock manipulation (days to few months
The market can give an accountability to stock manipulation to a certain extent.
However, sometimes stock manipulators can contribute to the failure of a company especially if the company is dependent on the financial markets.
It’s important to have the discernment skills to know objective reality and what’s true in an age where propaganda is so prevalent.
