November 23, 2020Barbara McDonough of Insight Insurance on the genesis of the Cork Penny Dinners fundraising campaignThe initiative came about from general small talk in the work canteen chatting about their Christmas party, how it wouldn't be going ahead and the fact that they have an extra few quid to spare as a result. Realising that the demand for services is at a high and the funds were at a low because of the pandemic, they thought why not donate the dinner they would have got at their Christmas party to Penny Dinners. The required price to be able to feed a single person for a full Christmas dinner is €7.50 with the aim being to feed 1000 people over Christmas.
