  • Softy and Dick H1- Howard Schultz tries to apologizes, stirs up more anger / What are your expectations for Husky basketball?
Howard Schultz is going to make a run for the presidency, but first, he's releasing a book. In the book, he makes an attempt at an apology to the city of Seattle for selling the Sonics, who were ultimately ripped away from us. This hollow apology will win over no one. Perhaps if he'd tried to make amends ten years ago, tried to bring another team back here, things would be different. The whole country needs to know how quickly he sold out when things got tough. He'll never be president. On a more uplifting note, the Dawgs got two more wins in Oregon this past week. They're now 7-0 in the conference. What are your expectations for the team at this point?

  • Softy and Dick H2 - (ahem) Something from the Super Bowl: What makes a fan? / P. J. Carlesimo's analysis of Husky basketball / Textimonials
All this week at 4, we'll do (ahem) Something from the Super Bowl. Today, Hugh Douglas commented to Cliff and Puck that if you've never gone to see your team play a game, you aren't a true fan. Is this true? Excluding financial or physical reasons, do you have to make the trek to the stadium at least once to be considered a real fan? P. J. Carlesimo has been watching the Dawgs closely, and has analysis of the team. How far are they going to go? Textimonials react to Howard Schultz and his terrible attempt at an apology.

  • Softy and Dick H3 - Husky football regressing to 6-6? / Making a tournament run / John Michaels on the Super Bowl / You Don't Know Dick!
One writer says the Huskies will regress next season to .500 in 2019. They're going to lose some pieces on defense but are they really going to go 6-6? Even without Eason performing as expected, they'll probably be a double-digit win team. Husky basketball right now continues to dominate the conference, and despite what all the rankings say, they have the makings of a team that'll make a run in the tournament. If you put this team in the SEC, or the other Power 5 conferences, they'd almost certainly be ranked top 25. John Michaels, sideline reporter for the Falcons talks about what it's like to have your city host a Super Bowl so quickly after losing the way the Falcons did just two years ago. We play another round of You Don't Know Dick! for Taco Time gift cards.

  • Softy and Dick H1 - Dawgs get the win in Eugene / Are you on the UW basketball wagon? / Husky legend, Byron Murphy
It came down to the wire, and a call that was debatable, but the Huskies got the win in Eugene last night, beating the Ducks on the road for the first time since 2010. They're now 6-0 in the Pac-12. Football is over, baseball is still a little bit off; should we be spending more time on Husky basketball? Are you jumping on the wagon, and is this the team Husky fans have been waiting for? Husky legend Byron Murphy is headed to the NFL after a successful career at Washington. He tells us when he knew it was time to make the move, what it means to have Coach Petersen's support, and what the secondary will look like next season on Montlake.

  • Softy and Dick H2 - Steve Lavin on all things Pac-12 basketball / Fun with Audio / Textimonials
We're getting deeper into the college basketball season. Steve Lavin gives us an in-depth look at the Pac-12, and around college basketball, including some good news for the conference, thoughts on Mark Few and Gonzaga, and will Mike Hopkins win coach of the year? We've got some of the best quotes from around sports this week on Fun with Audio: Mike Francesa can't tell when something's Photoshopped, Saints fans create a rap around the non-PI call, Dick Fain does his own version of the call, and more. Textimonials come in at 49451 reacting to the first two hours of the show.

  • Softy and Dick H3 - Seahawks' biggest need / Hugh Millen on Romo, refs, and more / DPI: Huskies and Pro Bowl / Jaylen Nowell
With the 2018 football season over for all but two teams, it's time to start looking ahead to the draft. One mock draft has the Seahawks picking N'Keal Harry in the first round. There's been rumors circling that Baldwin might not be back. What is the Hawks' biggest need heading into 2019? Hugh Millen's got some early thoughts on the Hawks' draft needs, Byron Murphy in the draft, as well as the non-PI call, Romo calling pass plays, and more. We get the DPI on the NFC winning the Pro Bowl, and the Dawgs' chances of making the tournament this year. Jaylen Nowell goes over the end of last night's game vs. Oregon, and a look at the state of the team ahead of tomorrow's game against the Beavers.

  • Softy and Dick H1 - What is there to lose? / Jerry Dipoto on the 2019 roster, Ichiro, and more / What we learned
Softy and Dick spent much of today at the Mariners' Media Day at T-Mobile Park, listening to Dipoto make his state of the team speech and talking with players. With the off-season bringing major changes to the lineup a lot of fans are a little freaked out, but what is there to lose? Even if this experiment fails, and the team isn't in the playoffs in 2021 or 2022, what's the difference? They weren't there anyway, and it wasn't getting done the way things were. They might as well try something new and hope it works. Jerry Dipoto certainly thinks these changes will bring this team success... eventually. He joins the show to discuss the roster shakeup, the difference between a reset and a rebuild, the signing of Ichiro, and more. We discuss what we've learned in our interview with Dipoto.

  • Softy and Dick H3 - Which local sports stock are you buying? / Dick and Dave with JP Crawford & Mallex Smith / Donald Watts on UW basketball
If each Seattle sports team were a stock, which team would you buy right now? The Mariners are at their lowest point, so they have the furthest to rise, but they could be a few years away still. The UW basketall team has started to rise, still a long way to go, but are getting there much faster. On another edition of Dick and Dave in the Locker Room (not actually in a locker room), they caught up with J.p. Crawford, and Mallex Smith. The Dawgs are trying to get a win in Eugene for the first time in nine years tonight. What's the key to a victory over the Ducks? Donald Watts has insight. Earlier today Softy asked Andy McKay to compare the depth of the minor league system today to the depth when he got here ...and he couldn't.

  • Softy and Dick H1 - Bonds and Clemens need new voters / Edgar Martinez replay / Mike Hopkins on UW basketball
Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds are very slowly gaining each year in Hall of Fame voting, but they aren't gaining fast enough. If guys from the steroid era are going to get in, it's probably not going to be from voters who have dug their feet in about not giving them the vote. They're going to need new voters. In case you missed it, we replay yesterday's Edgar Martinez interview following the Hall of Fame announcement. The Huskies are 5-0 in conference and heading for a tough couple of games against the Oregon teams. Mike Hopkins talks about where the team is it, how long his East Coast influence on recruits might last, and what he has to say to the skeptics.
