  • Softy and Dick H2 - NFL needs kickers / Patriots' easy schedule / Mike Holmgren on all things NFL / Textimonials
It's no wonder there's talk about Carli Lloyd trying out for an NFL team. The league needs kickers so badly that they keep going back to guys well past their prime. Dick happened to look at the Patriots schedule and noticed they've got very little in the way of competition. They could go 16-0! Typical. Mike Holmgren weighs in on Andrew Luck's retirement, the change in coaching strategy in preseason games, and more. Textimonials react to the show.

  • Softy and Dick H3 - Weekly check-in w/Chris Petersen / Gregg Bell on the Hawks roster / In the locker room w/Chico McClatcher & Eli Molden
Softy and a few other members of the media check in with Chris Petersen as they do every week during the season. Gregg Bell of The News Tribune discusses who will stay and who will go on the Seahawks roster once rosters are trimmed on Saturday. It's an all Dawg edition of Dick and Dave in the Locker Room with Chico McClatcher and Eli Molden.

  • Softy and Dick H1 - Washington Athletic Director Jen Cohen / 9:00 games: Would you go? / The transfer debate
Someone has to be a pretty big deal to pre-empt the show's opening monologue, and today, one of the only people with that much clout. UW Athletic Director Jen Cohen starts off the show talking about improvements to the fan experience at Husky Stadium, plus her strong stance on 9am games, and her thoughts on players transferring. Playing a 9am Pacific Time game may make sense in Ann Arbor, but an early game against Michigan at Husky Stadium. Jen Cohen is against it. Would you still go to a major game even if it were that early? Players across college football continue to enter the transfer portal. Softy and Dick debate the merits of transferring. When is it acceptable, if ever?

  • Softy and Dick H2 - Your thoughts on players transferring / Petros Papadakis, transfers, Arizona loss, more / Textimonials
We've had this debate a lot recently. Now we give you a chance to weigh in. What are your thoughts on players transferring? We take your calls at 1-800-829-0950. Jake Haener isn't the only Pac-12 quarterback entering the transfer portal. Jack Sears has decided to look for a new home as well. Petros discusses this, the loss to Hawaii by Arizona, plus the Mowins dilemma, and a message for Rick Neuheisel that may never get delivered. Textimonials react to transfers, the Jen Cohen interview, and more at 49451.

  • Softy and Dick H3 - Rick Neuheisel on all things Pac-12 / Jen Cohen replay / Does Oregon have to win? / You Don't Know Dick!
Rick Neuheisel checks in with his thoughts on Jake Haener and the current transfer situation in college football, the importance of this weekend on the perception of the conference, plus his pick for the week (if the game goes forward). In case you missed it, UW Athletic Director Jen Cohen joined the show in the 3:00 hour. We've got the replay here. Dick is running out of time to convince Softy that a win for Oregon is the best thing for the Pac-12. To close the show, another round of You Don't Know Dick! for a $20 gift card to Taco Time.

  • Softy and Dick H2 - Keon Broxton suspended and fined / Jon Wilner's controversial Washington preview / Textimonials
Keon Broxton was kicked out of last night's M's game after throwing his batting glove and accidentally hitting the umpire. Major League Baseball has subsequently fined him and suspended him for an additional two games. Is Baseball overreacting to what was clearly an accident with no real injuries, or should the rule against ever hitting an umpire for any reason stand? Jon Wilner has released his preview of Washington football, and it's gotten some Dawg fans' feathers a bit ruffled. A loss to Cal in week 2? Textimonials react to the show at 49451.

  • Softy and Dick H3 - Brian Schmetzer on the Sounders win / Clowney for Penny & a pick? / In the locker room w/Shaquill Griffin & Trey Adams
The Sounders defeated rival Portland last Friday. Head coach of the Sounders Brian Schmetzer talks about the match, and what to expect this weekend against the LA Galaxy. Amara Darboh has been waived by the Seahawks. It's interesting to look at other players the team could have drafted instead of him that have impacted the league. Actually, that 2017 draft doesn't look so great until you get down to the seventh round. The Hawks still have plenty of receivers on the roster, but most of them have never played a snap in the NFL. The rumors around Clowney continue to swirl. Aaron Wilson reports that he'd prefer to go to either Seattle or Philly. Could the Hawks trade Rashaad Penny plus a second-round pick for Clowney, and would it be worth it? Dick and Dave were in the locker room with Shaquill Griffin and Trey Adams to round out the show.

  • Softy and Dick H1 - Two massive sports stories / Jake Haener explains his decision to leave Washington / Derek Schultz on Luck's retirement
Yes, there was a Hawks preseason game over the weekend, and the Dawgs kick off their season on Saturday, but there are two stories dominating the news today, one local, and one national, and they're both similar in nature. First, Andrew Luck announced, seemingly out of nowhere, that he would be retiring from the NFL effective immediately. He got a lot of immediate blowback from Colts fans, but if he's done physically or even mentally, it's unreasonable to expect him to keep destroying himself. Here at home, Jake Haener has decided to transfer after not getting the starting quarterback job with the Huskies. It's understandable why he'd want to leave, but was it the right decision? Haener himself joins the show to talk about his reasons for departing the program and entering the transfer portal. So what's the mood like in Indy today after Luck's announcement? We talk with Derek Schultz of Fox Sports Indy about Colts fans' reactions to the surprise announcement.

  • Softy and Dick H2 - Is there a silver lining for the Dawgs? / Joel Klatt on Luck, Haener, Eason, more / Textimonials
Could there be a silver lining in the Jake Haener situation? If Eason leaves for the NFL next season, it's very likely that Haener would get the starting job, even if Sirmon outperforms him, and Sirmon's upside is almost certainly higher. This could have prevented an uncomfortable situation next year. Joel Klatt has some thoughts on Andrew Luck, and the Colts fans' reaction, but feels very differently about Haener's decision to leave, plus, do Dawg fans need to pump the breaks on Eason's expectations? Textimonials react to the news of the day at 49451.
