  • Softy and Dick H1 - From Jimmy's on First / What kind of rebuild? / US Open: The bigger story / Explaining the Anthony Davis trade
The M's are back home, and Softy and Dick are at Jimmy's on First before tonight's game. The Mariners are playing the Royals in what promises to be a very empty T-Mobile Park. The lowest-attended three-game series we could find was a series against the Astros in 2013 with a grand total of 31,709 tickets sold. Will this series see fewer people? The M's have traded Edwin Encarnacion for Juan Then, a pitching prospect they had previously given to teh Yankees for Nick Rumbelow. Reports are that the team could have gotten better prospects from the Rays, but would have had to eat more of Edwin's contract. What kind of rebuild is this? Are we taking it seriously, or is it possible Then just ranked higher on Dipoto's list than the prospects Tampa offered up? Gary Woodland won the US Open, and it's been seen as a feel good story, but during the tournament, the bigger story was waiting to see if Koepka could win his third major in a row. Either way, a good weekend for golf. Anthony Davis has been traded to the Lakers for draft picks and players, including Lonzo Ball. The draft pick agreement is a little complicated, so we walk through it step by step. Now that Davis is in LA, are the Lakers the favorite to win the championship next year? Softy and Dick identify about eight teams that could all make it happen.

This week the Mariners are playing Kansas City, and we're asking whether this series will attract more or fewer people. Corey Brock of The Athletic has updates on all things Mariners, including the Encarnacion trade, Felix's shoulder fatigue, and more. Textimonials react to the first two hours of the show at 49451.

  • Softy and Dick H1 - NBA Finals: So many storylines / Is the Toronto win cheapened? / PJ Carlesimo on the Finals, next season
Toronto wins Game 6 of the NBA Finals last night; Klay Thompson goes down with a knee injury, last second shot, last game at Oracle, etc. There has probably never been an NBA Finals with so many storylines. Toronto benefited from injuries to two key Golden State players, but had KD and Klay played the entire series, is it a guarantee that the Dubs would have won? Dick is absolutely confident that injuries are the only reason Toronto can claim the trophy. So Durant and Thompson will miss most of next season, and neither of them are guaranteed back in the Bay Area. How will these injuries impact the Warriors, and the league? We get thoughts from PJ Carlesimo on this and all things basketball now that the season is over.

We give away tickets to the Hawks and Rams to a deserving father courtesy of Venue Kings.
