  • The first computer bug was an actual bug, and that is the reason why it’s called that when you have an issue. In 1947 a moth flew into the computer at Harvard University and stuffed it up. The programmer working on it at the time found the moth and taped it to a piece of paper with an explanation on what happened to the computer.
  • Rowan Atkinson’s Mr Bean wasn’t originally called Mr Bean. When he was developing the character, he didn’t give him a name to begin with because he was mostly silent. His writers put a bunch of vegetables on the table and the frontrunner was Mr Cauliflower. Also, the reason why we have Mr Bean is because Rowan tried a bunch of pitches for TV shows and was knocked back each time. The reason – his voice was awful. So, he decided to pitch something without his voice.
  • It's estimated 80% of the people in the world have never stepped onto an airplane.
  • Noticed a photo of Cremorne on the Mackay Council’s Facebook page last week for Throwback Thursday. It’s amazing how that areas has changed and a number of buildings no longer there. The Trocadero Hall is no longer there. They had wedding breakfasts – didn’t know that was a thing.
