David was met with Goliath’s disdain for him. The giant sought to curse David in the name of his false gods. What Goliath failed to realize was this was not a fight between a giant warrior and a young shepherd boy, but rather the true God against evil and idolatry. David approaches Goliath in the name of The Lord and proclaims his demise. At the time of battle, David runs to the battle line in the courage of his God. We are reminded of the victory every believer has in Jesus as well as the same power that lives in us.
