Mark Stoops and the Kentucky Wildcats are coming into Athens ready to handle business. Their fans have confidence and a hot handed running back plus a major name sake transfer QB may just justify their level of belief. Kirby and our DAWGS will surely have something to say about that. && hopefully, similar to the highly anticipated Drake album release - UGA has also been saving an elite performance/product for this magnificent month of October. Let's roll up our sleeves and get into the nitty gritty of what it's going to take to get a humongous victory for all the DAWGS come Saturday evening in the most Classic of cities.

Brock Bowers is the best Non-QB player in the country, and probably better than most of the signal callers we'll see this year. It's obvious that he will continue to be a focal point of this offense moving forward if UGA wants to remain undefeated. However, missed tackles and turnovers continue to plague this team in a year where the margin of error is SLIM. We escaped Jordan-Hare with a 27-20 victory after a Malaki Starks INT, but October & November all of the sudden are littered with ranked teams looking for an upset. Dame Dolla traded to the Milwaukee Bucks and the 104-win Braves wait for their opponent as the MLB postseason kicks off with Wildcard play. To Hugh Freeze . Yes- the longest standing rivalry in the SEC - that long returning tradition- it's kind of a big deal. While we won't promote hate - it should be painfully obvious that a rivalry game dubbed the Deep South's Oldest- emphasis on Oldest- is a tradition with deep roots. Additionally, why on Earth would any game with the esteemed title of specifically being called a "rivalry" game, by definition meaning someone who you at minimum seek to passionately compete against- not be considered a big deal to the fans of Auburn ??? That is an excellent way to set the bar low publicly & get the boot earlier than expected if success isn't even sniffed. So the pressure is on. ⏳

The first real road test of the season will soon be underway. We break down a huge road test for this years iteration of a historically successful Georgia Bulldog team. 22 wins in a row. The Blazer's fire has been dampened. && our coach Kirby Smart captured a historic win from the Brother of Dragons. Bobo let them boys cook & Brock Bowers showed why he's a master chef. Sanford Stadium lit up in all its Glory once again as it was them Dawgs breathing fire when it was all said and done. All those highlights are all fine and dandy, but our Dawgs now must learn- then turn- their efforts and collective attention to the Auburn Tigers in a potentially hazardous road trip to Jordan-Hare Stadium. We will look back at this win and make our conclusions about the good, the bad, and the coachable. We surely have lots to discuss on this episode of Dawgs OTL - following an action packed weekend with many impactful games across the sport of college football. With a potential win in what will be his 100th game as Georgia Bulldog's head coach, Kirby Smart can cement his legacy as the best to ever do it in the first 100 games of his coaching career. This time in Georgia football lore is truly rarified air. Speaking of the fantastical, it seems only fitting that our Dawgs could spark such a history book type victory against a team quite familiar with fire, ash, & dragons too. The Blazers from UAB searched high and low through the prospective coaching annals to unearth a proven warrior and Super Bowl winning QB, Trent Dilfer. Which leads us to ask: what would a dynasty really be if it couldn't over take the "Brother of Dragons' himself ?! In High Valyrian fashion -- Coach Kirby's only one command before our Dawgs take the field? Dracarys !

After another* slow start and injuries still taking their toll, the Dawgs find a way to bounce back from a 14-3 deficit in the 1st half to overcome the South Carolina Gamecocks in Athens. In a week where several "contenders" looked really bad or even lost (The Tennessee Volunteers, ladies and gentlemen) UGA showed flashes and found a way to get it done to move to 3-0. Offensively, Kirby and Bobo need to consider therapy and the O-line will need to survive the loss of Amarius Mims for at least 4 weeks but holding a QB to 104 yards on 6-24 and 2 INTs in the 2nd half will get it done. Last but not least well wishes and hopes for a speedy recovery to our own DGD Nick Chubb. All this & more, on this week's episode.... of Dawgs Off the Leash!

Georgia continues devouring the glory on the cusp of 20 wins in a row. While we weren't perfect - Ball State did not stand a chance. Simultaneously, as UGA is sailing smoothly to start off 2023, other SEC playoff contenders continue to stumble. Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide will be licking their wounds and will be reapproaching the drawing board in Tuscaloosa. Now that Texas has beaten a one of the better second tier SEC opponents- the fans over in Austin were heard clamoring for a greater test . They look to challenge the king of the mountain- so naturally they're saying "We Want Georgia" . Many in the past 2 years have made such errant requests. We will let them warn you Longhorn folk, the message being: be careful what you wish for......

Week 1 ends with a huge upset in Durham, NC to close out Labor Day on a weekend that saw LSU and TCU lose again, Bama found a QB and UGA, Michigan and OSU win big over lesser opponents. After winning a 2nd title 65-7 in January, 48-7 over UT-Martin feels like a letdown, and this week Mike Bobo is the scapegoat.
