Now based in Barcelona, Pilar Molinero is an Argentine-born DJ and producer whose journey has taken her from Buenos Aires’ underground scene to the vibrant heart of Europe’s electronic music landscape. Pilar’s musical roots trace back to her childhood, where her father’s vinyl collection introduced her to legends like Alan Parsons Project, Supertramp, The Police, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and the list go on and ond.
As a child, she immersed herself in each song, imagining elaborate visual stories—a creative spark that still drives her music today.
In her teens, Pilar explored Hip Hop, Downtempo, Trip hop, Space age and Pop music before discovering electronic music in 2012 at an underground event in Buenos Aires. This experience ignited her curiosity for the electronic realm, where she quickly gravitated toward the house, microhouse, deep house, minimal sounds of artists like Delano Smith, Pepe Bradock, So Inagawa, Andrey Pushkarev, Mihai Popoviciu, Varhat, Janeret among many more.
Over time, she expanded her influences to include acid, nu-disco, funk, and house, forming a successful DJ duo inspired by DamSwindle, Fouk, Blackloops, that led her to perform alongside talents like Bushwacka and Purple Disco Machine.
Her passion for a unique, synthetic sound ultimately led her to pursue an independent path, diving deeper into music production and sound design.
After relocating to Europe in 2021, she began releasing original music on respected labels like YEG Ya Estamos Grandes, and Memento Records, contributing remixes and productions that showcase her signature blend of creativity and technical skill.
Driven by a desire to foster community, Pilar founded Fullhouse, an electronic music event series that over ten years has evolved from intimate gatherings to outdoor festivals in Barcelona, connecting people through shared musical experiences. In 2021, she took this vision further with the launch of her vinyl label, Quantum Records, dedicated to promoting emerging talents with support from established artists, creating a platform where fresh voices and renowned figures collaborate.
Now a resident DJ at Club Macarena for Memento Records’ Monday nights, Pilar performs alongside underground icons like Robert Drewek, Idriss D. In 2024, she joined the lineup at Brunch Festival BCN, performing alongside world-renowned names like Helena Hauff, Jamie Jones, Nightmares on Wax, Dixon, marking a high point in her career.
Pilar’s influence extends beyond the stage, as she engages with Barcelona’s creative scene as a member of the Algorythm collective and collaborated with cultural spaces like Perros Mediterráneos. Her journey is one of constant evolution and a deep commitment to sound exploration, making her a key figure in today’s electronic music landscape
