Bimbau was born in Brazil, on the outskirts of São Paulo, where rhythm was inherent to everyday life from an early age.

After moving to Paris in 2012, she connected with electronic music through the city’s club scene, before heading to London in 2016, where she explored the avant-garde underground and deepened her connection to dancefloors and warehouse sound systems.

In 2019 she relocated to Berlin where she spent the following years immersed in the city’s electronic music culture exploring, refining her sound, and developing her technical skills.

Deeply influenced by Brazilian rhythms and beat patterns, Bimbau blends percussive house with raw 90s vocals. Her sets are powerful and hypnotic, rhythmically driven, built for the dance floor.

From Sisyphos to Mensch Meier and Kater in Berlin, to Wall in Miami and Omeara in London, she continues to expand her presence across international dancefloors, including festival appearances and recent peak-time sets at Silencio in Paris.

Bimbau’s name is inspired by the Afro-Brazilian instrument berimbau, a symbol of resistance and movement, reflecting how sound travels across oceans, evolves through cultures, and creates spaces of connection, freedom, and belonging.

A fixture of the underground for nearly two decades, Chicago-based CCTV found her sanctuary on the dancefloor—from DIY parties across the Midwest to iconic clubs worldwide. This foundational experience as a dancer instills her sets with a profound reverence for release and connection. A devoted scholar of the culture, she weaves energetic, experimental, genre-fluid narratives that honor the roots of Chicago and Detroit, colored by a love for electro, acid, and breaks. Her sound is both a homage and a venture into the unexpected.

Biography

Maono channels each performance into a groovy narrative, where rhythm meets soul. Although music has always been her unspoken passion, at the age of 30 she decided to make it her life's purpose, researching sounds that portray the ever-changing nuances of house music.

Her love-story with music started early, as a child sitting beside her father, a real music enthusiast. Together, they would listen to records, dissecting each layer of sound. Maono would talk about manipulating the tracks, experimenting with how different pieces fit together—just as if she were already orchestrating a DJ set.

These formative moments became the foundation of her artistry, planting the seeds of a lifelong connection to music.

Her sets balance hypnotic melodies and infectious beats meant to capture the pulse of the crowd, spinning electro house and deep house. Her signature style, poised between elegance and intensity, has taken her to some of the most renowned stages all around Europe.

Deeply inspired by the roots of house and disco music, she is able to add her own contemporary twist,

always looking for fresh and unexpected sounds. Maono is using sounds as a language to explore emotions: to evoke a feeling, to spark a memory, or to create a fleeting moment of pure escape, where music becomes a place to experiment and uncover new stories.
