Ladies, Gentlemen, and Others

We gather here today to say our goodbyes.

(fret not, only for a couple of weeks, just to show face to my family as a testament that I am indeed still alive and well) 

And what better way to end this atrocious summer, if not by talking about a horror movie? Because that's what my life has been from May up until now, a horror movie with low blood pressure, heatwaves and nosebleeds galore.

Presented at the Sundance film festival on January 2026, "Leviticus" by Adrian Chiarella is made of the same substance nightmares are made of.

That is, if you grew up in a small community where religion is the main rule,dominating with fear and an iron fist, being queer is considered graver than having killed your own brother, and calling an exorcist is regarded as the most effective way to solve problems and make people as straight as a fiddle.

Put an evil entity who is trying to seduce you in the cauldron, and you have a recipe for disaster, guaranteed. No refunds will be issued at any time.

Greek mythology nerds unite, our prayers have finally been answered!

Forget Nolan, forget the Odyssey and all the related drama, Love and Psyche and their immortale tale of love and betrayal is back on trend, with a spicy twist.

Buckle up to embark on this journey like you've never witnessed it before, with brand new characters in the midst and a secret bound to shake the Kingdom of Tosrinco to its core.

For the rules are simple: you shall never rival a goddess as beautiful as Aphrodite, you shall never reveal your true identity to a tyrant, and most important of all, you shall never, ever fall in love with a God.

Except that, if your name is Psyche, and your beauty rivals the one of the Goddess herself, chaos is bound to unleash sooner rather that later.

Even more so, if miss Aphrodite decides to send her son Eros to punish you, only for him to fall utterly and desperately in love with you.

And that could be the end of it, if you weren't, in fact, a prince disguised as a princess who's been plotting vengeance against his tyrant stepfather for ten years.

Even more so, when said stepfather is becoming increasingly obsessed with you.

You've been asking (and by you, I mean me myself and I) and I delivered.

It was time for a catch up on the spin off the title that made us re evaluate all our life choices in one go, and with only 53 chapters, one could only wish we had gotten more.

One betrayal after the other, we follow the story of Yuta and Seung-hyun and how they got the happy ending they deserved.

By comparing this spin off to its legendary main counterpart, one question still lingers in the air: was all that violence necessary?

Not much else is needed to say, if you're here, it's because you know exactly what you are getting yourself into.

Today's episode needs no introduction whatsoever.

If you're here, it almost certainly means that you already know the plot the tea and the whatnots.

When it first came out, "Painter of the Night" by Byeonduck was nothing short than a revolutionary tale in the midst of what was fast becoming the stagnant universe of BL titles.

Adored by millions worldwide, it is a story close to the hearts of many, even more so now, two years after the epilogue we hoped was never gonna get published came out.

But alas, with extraordinary products come great responsibilities, and a certain tendency to squeeze the whole thing dry.

Hence why, after the silence, "Painter of the Night": the series, courtesy of Lezhin Snacks, saw its first airing time on the 28th of May.

With expectations running high and an army of aficionados who's ready to wage a war in case said expectations aren't gonna be met, was this new product really worth the hype?

I do apologise if you were expecting one of the usual shenanigans with a lot of unnecessary opinions about one of your favourite BL titles and my shameless fawning over 2D men.

It will unfortunately have to wait for next week.

However, I know we are a bunch of intellectuals here, always scavenging for what's new in that extensive and dark universe that the BL world is.

And I know for a fact, that we all have heard that "Painter of the Night" is getting a series adaptation, so could I not add more fuel to this fire?

History nerds alert!!!

Brothers Without a Tomorrow is (are? how many brothers are there?) back on track with yet another historical fantasy themed gem which surely has all the cards to become a fans' favourite.

This is one of those episodes that definitely need no introduction.

I do like to describe myself as a person who follows their heart, but in this day and age (and foremost, in this economy), sometimes all we need to do, it's to give the people what they ask.

Now, if I were to be Marie Antoinette, I'd give you croissants.

But I'm not a beheaded monarch, only your humble host, so what I'm presenting to you today, is an episode about the most talked topic in town-or at least was until recently.

So sit back and get the tissues ready as we dive deep into "Heated Rivalry", the controversial (but is it truly?) secret love story between hockey stars Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander.

In the words of Marten Horger and Neon Steve

"It's been a little minute, but...we're back!"

So, since we've been wasting enough time already, welcome to another episode of D&B, and what better way to come back, if not with an omegaverse title full of burly athletes and a whole lot of drama and misunderstandings?

So sit tight and buckle up as we dive into the lives and relationship of childhood friends Juhyeok and Su-ah, a pair of star crossed lover whose love life was mapped out from the start.

Or so it seemed, until their secondary gender manifested...in reverse.

And the one who was supposed to be protected, became the protector.

And the one supposed to be the knight in shining armour, began to fight with nails and teeth in order to navigate the brutal world of professional athletes.

Will our boys get their happy ending after all, or will they succumb to the void left by all those bottled up feelings that were left unsaid?

We can't know for sure just yet.

For now, let's just talk about what we know so far, the speculations, the theories, who's siding with, and I hope you'll enjoy this bumpy ride with me.

Today is one of those days where no introduction is needed, and adrenaline is running high as if reading BLs were an olympic sport.

It all started in 2021 when "Pearl Boy" decided to present itself on our doorstep and ruin what was left of our sanity.

Five years later, we're still here, and still can't get enough of that f*ck3d up place that is the Pearlverse created by Inking.

But this time around, the tides have turned, as we dive deep into the life of Baek Seung-hyun and his twisted shot at love with a blast from the past he most certainly wanted to forget about.

But all is fair in the game of love and power, and with Shin Jae-il out of the picture and an hunger for power that could start a wildfire from a spark, will Seung-hyun win this war, or will he burn trying?

And what better way to stay hydrated, than by drinking some blood?

As summer funk has been hitting me on an all time high and boredom has been the master of my days, vampires came yet again to my rescue, as it often happened during the darkest periods of my life.

So sit back, relax, and give "A lovely meal" by SUMA some well deserved love.

Set in modern day Korea, it narrates the intertwined story of Changdeok-a lonely loan shark with a passion for food- and Jongwu -a recently orphaned homeless student with an heart of gold-, and how they started living together.

What however could seem the beginning of a very common love story, is in fact the starting point of a story of vampire, gangsters and family feuds, which as of today (since we haven't seen even the tip of the iceberg yet) leaves us with the question to end all questions: can love really and truly overcome any obstacle?
