Welcome back to season 2 of the Dbags Podcast hosted by Tim and David. It's our episode since the end of the 2020 MLB season. We talk about the upcoming season, we went to the World Series, and the Dbacks owner Ken Kendrick is a moron.
Tim went to Ikea. David got a new chair. Jake Lamb is doing well in Oakland. The D-backs are still not exciting to watch or talk about. Josh Donaldson is a savage and got ejected after sweeping dirt onto home plate.
So we totally recorded an entire episode without the audio from the microphones. This is take two of this week's episode. In this shorter episode we decided to not make it about the D-backs considering they are 2-18 over their last 20 games and lost again today. We both joined a fantasy football league last minute today and just finished drafting our teams, listen to hear us break down our draft picks!
The D-backs traded Archie Bradley, Robbie Ray, Starling Marte, and Andrew Chafin at the trade deadline. We are very sad to see Archie go, he was drafted by the team and spent about a decade with the organization, he engrained himself in Arizona and contributed so much to the community and showed he really cared and wanted to make a difference off the field too. His triple in the Wild Card game will go down as our favorite moment that we were able to experience first hand. Archie Bradley, on behalf of all Diamondbacks fans, thank you for bringing the heat and intensity every time you stepped on that mound and thank you for being you off the the field. Never change..
Professional sports were cancelled on August 26, 2020. That day will go down in history and future generations will learn about it in history class. It's important for those that don't understand to just listen to what these professional athletes are saying. Like Archie Bradley said, there needs to be some physical action for there to be change. We can no longer just talk about it and use words. Players got together and decided to just not play and that's more powerful than just re-posting a picture and talking about it on social media.
We have some drama in baseball. Just like the NBA with their catchy headlines, Major League Baseball has Thom Brennaman who said "one of the f** capitals of the world" on live television. Should he get cancelled for using this racial slur? We weigh in on our reactions to one of our favorite announcer's comment.
Fernando Tatis Jr. apologized for being the best goddamn baseball player in the game right now at 21 years old. Old head and Texas Rangers head coach, Chris Woodward, did not like the fact that Tatis Jr. took the Rangers deep on a 3-0 pitch after the Padres were already up by 7 runs in the 8th inning.
The D-backs had strung along a nice stretch over their last 16 games. They have won 10 out of 16 and split the series vs. the Oakland Athletics. Shoutout to Weaver who pitched very well his last outing. Shoutout to Gallen for consistently being our favorite to talk about on the podcast. And also shoutout to Nick Ahmed who has been on a tear recently.
We got a new intro song!
The Dbacks have battled all the way back in to a relevant spot. A 3 game sweep of San Diego and the boys are buzzing! Quality starts and timely hitting have made the playoffs seem more attainable. Zac Gallen is on the bump tonight for the D-backs. Go back to our first ever episode where we did a complete breakdown of Zac Gallen who is a guy that if you don't know already, you will very soon. He is facing an Oakland team that's 16-6 and one of the best teams in the American League. We also went in a little bit about the St. Louis Cardinals, and don't ask us about the Coyotes.

The D-backs are not exciting to talk about right now and it's actually NOT a D-backs podcast anyways so we talked about the 8-0 Suns and the Coyotes who are going to play game 2 of the first round of the playoffs tomorrow. We listened to Suns head coach Monty Williams address his team after going undefeated in the bubble. After a few months of no sports whatsoever and yearsssss of being disappointed Arizona sports fans, it was very special to see this team play their hearts out and leave it all out on the court. The Arizona Coyotes are in the playoffs, something Arizona sports fans haven't really seen much of in any of the 4 major sports. They lost the first game vs the Colorado Avalance 3-0 which could've easily ended up much differently. They were scoreless going into the 3rd period until Derek Stepan was called for a penalty. The Avs went on to score on the power play and then score twice again less than 2 minutes later. We will be back next Thursday for another episode.. until then, try not to die of heat stroke.

Sorry in advance, I forgot to switch the setting so we recorded one of our best episodes without our microphones. But hey, that's showbiz and we're just here to talk about the D-backs and whatever the hell else we talk about. We were about done with this season and David at one point tweeted (and then deleted when the D-backs scored 9 runs in one inning) that he was officially done with the season and called for Manfred to cancel the 2020 baseball season. In this episode we obviously talk about the last couple games and we go in on the Coyotes and Suns both having a solid restart to their seasons. The Coyotes are playing really well against the Nashville Predators and the Suns are now 4-0 in the bubble. We talk about other stuff too so give it a listen. --David
