DCOM, Cool, and Collected

This non-DCOM 16 Wishes is a wild ride?? But I would highly recommend you don't mentally compare it to 13 Going on 30 or you'll be severely disappointed! We talk briefly about Twenty One Pilots/Tumblr phases from high school, and how invested we are in Josh Dun and Debby Ryan's relationship (and have been since like 2013...)

Next week we're watching Den Brother???

Sorry for the late upload y'all, we were having some technical difficulties! Elizabeth and I are convinced this movie was truly just PG fanfiction turned into a DCOM... so do with that information what you will.

Don't miss next week when we watch our last non-DCOM 16 Wishes!

ATTN spoilers of who becomes the family wizard!! And if you don't know much about the WoWP magical universe, DON'T WORRY we go in depth about it all. Did this DCOM need to exist?? Not really. Sometimes movies where the plot takes them back to the where the movie begins are useful because they teach a life lesson... this was not one of those.

We are moving along to 2010 with Starstruck next week! You don't want to miss it!

We are here and ready to talk about Demi and Selena's friendship, as well as the bitch that is internalized misogyny with this week's Princess Protection Program. If you're interested in the timeline of Demi and Selena's friendship we referenced, here's the link: https://www.insider.com/are-selena-gomez-demi-lovato-still-friends-timeline. If you are not interested in hearing all the details, you can probably skip the first 10 minutes of this episode... oops...

Next week we'll be seeing Selena again in Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie. We'll catch ya then!

There's not a lot to say about Hatching Pete, a DCOM about a shy high school mascot, but somehow we still talked for over 46 minutes so enjoy!! We share personal anecdotes of our own experiences with mascots!

Next week we're coming in hot with Princess Protection Program! Don't miss it!

Hi friends, this week's DCOM was rough... Dadnapped just wasn't great... and we believe Emily Osment deserved better! We spent some time digging trying to find a moral or point of this movie, but we never found it... let us know if you know what it was!!

Next week we will continue through this rough patch with Hatching Pete.

That's a wrap on the High School Musical franchise (at least until Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure...). Though not perfect, we agree this is a decent end to the HSM stories, but we think we both would've liked it more if it were a DCOM. I didn't mention it in the podcast, but the fact that it wasn't a DCOM made it a little exclusionary. Like this came out in 2008 PRIME RECESSION time and I'm sure plenty of young kids who watched the first 2 movies come out weren't able to see the movie in theaters because it was another expense (DCOMs are already a lil exclusionary because you had to have Disney Channel to watch them, but that kinda feels like another step). ANYWAY, now that that internal monologue is over, we'll catch you next week for Dadnapped.

Here it is y'all our final journey with The Cheetah Girls (minus Raven, so is it really even The Cheetah Girls??) in The Cheetah Girls: One World. Elizabeth and I learned the real root of all friendships: dance battles.

Don't miss next week when we have another third in a musical series High School Musical 3. Kelly has never seen this all the way through so be excited!

The first 30 minutes is us really appreciating 2008 drama, Demi Lovato, the Jonas Brothers, and whatever else popped into our heads. This was a ~life-changing~ movie for me (Kelly) and you won't want to miss my fun anecdotes!

Next week we have another musical, Cheetah Girls: One World.

Y'all this week is the HIMBO APPRECIATION SPECIAL! We are apparently very passionate about this movie, and we think you should be too! My (Kelly) voice is basically gone from all the yelling I did in this episode... Oops.

BUT! That's not all because next week is Camp Rock and it's about to get ~rEaLlY gOoD~!
