DCOM, Cool, and Collected

Vega Omega y'all! We've come to our last ZCOM! The moral of this DCOM is don't take land that isn't fucking yours! (@ Christopher Columbus's bitch ass) We're getting towards the DCOMS that are more prevalent in our minds, and the podcast should only go up from here! Elizabeth and I also have a lot of questions about space law. Any space lawyers listening to the pod feel free to message us and let us know what we're talking about!

Everything is still crazy in the world, and it can wear ya down, but stay as informed as you can. Help people however you can. Black Lives STILL MATTER.

We watched Going to the Mat this week. We say goodbye to our dear friend Andrew Lawerence. This was his 4th and final DCOM. If you wanna hear 2 girls who know NOTHING about wrestling talk about a wrestling movie, this is the EPISODE for you!! Enjoy!

SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED IN THE PAST WEEK IT'S HARD TO KEEP UP. Trump refused to condemn white supremacists and told them to "stand by" because he's racist. This ties into everything. Joe Biden is almost NO ONE'S ideal candidate, but not voting for him will continue to let things get worse. It will be bad for so many people. Black lives matter. Intersectional lives matter. VOTE and stay up to date because it's crazy and exhausting.

This week we watched our first DCOM from 2004! Pixel Perfect starring dreamboat, Ricky Ullman, left us confused about 2004's understanding of holograms?? We also question WHY Leah Pipes looks SO familiar to us?? But come up blank. Next week we watch out last DCOM featuring a Lawerence brother in Going to the Mat.

Breonna Taylor was murdered by police officers who were not held responsible for such. As I looked for more information to provide on what to do to help this situation I came across this article that proves police did have their body cams on for SOME of the night they murdered Breonna Taylor, and it makes you wonder what else has intentionally been hidden: https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/v7gwyy/new-body-cam-footage-raises-questions-about-breonna-taylor-death-investigation

This week we watched Full-Court Miracle and learned a lot more about Judaism in this 90 minute DCOM than we did in 12+ years of religious education ¯_(ツ)_/¯. Elizabeth also expertly points out the parallels between this movie and Gotta Kick It Up! Stay tuned for next week when we watch our first DCOM from 2004, Pixel Perfect!

The world is literally and figuratively on fire, and that is much more important than our silly podcast. Keep paying attention to what's going on, even though it's a lot it's better to be informed. Info on SOME of the issues going on right now: Women at the border being forced to get hysterectomies against their will: https://www.businessinsider.com/ice-doctor-performing-hysterectomies-is-not-board-certified-2020-9

But if you need a little distraction from impending doom, then we have a special long episode over The Cheetah Girls, a life-changing DCOM, ft. our special guest (and other roommate) Maddie! Fun fact, I (Kelly) stepped on glass RIGHT before we recorded this, and I didn't want to hold us all up so I waited til we were done to get the glass out of my foot. It was not fun, but the movie was!

Black lives matter. This week we mentioned the necessity of intersectionality in feminism, and referenced how racism contributes to many Black women dying during childbirth. Learn more about the situation: https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2019/p0905-racial-ethnic-disparities-pregnancy-deaths.html

This week we watched Eddie's Million Dollar Cook-Off which in the end sparked a small rant on the importance of feminism. If you don't care about that, oh well ¯_(ツ)_/¯. Is Eddie's Million Dollar Cook-Off essentially the first draft of High School Musical? You can decide that for yourself!

Black lives matter. Keep speaking out about injustice. This isn't over, and we have to keep fighting for what's right.

Sorry this is late (if anyone noticed!) I completely forgot to press upload... This week we watched The Even Stevens Movie, and if you were looking for 13 minutes of commentary about the cast, you came to the right podcast!

This still isn't over. Black lives matter. Keep that same passion because this injustice just keeps happening.

This week we watched Right on Track and we had A LOT to say about the lead characters played by Beverly Mitchell and Brie Larson! This movie was also added to the sports DCOM list, which just keeps growing longer...

Jacob Black was shot in the back 7 times by police officers this Sunday, August 23, 2020.

We watched You Wish! a classic 2003 DCOM ft. A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton??? We also took a little quiz on whether someone was a Shakespeare or DCOM character. We did surprisingly bad considering how many of these DCOMs we've watched already...

This week we watched The Scream Team, our last DCOM from 2002! 2003 is going to be a great year for DCOMS so buckle up because it's about to get good! Thanks for listening!

Unrelated to the podcast, but more important than this silly thing is staying up-to-date with what is going on in the US, but also in the world around us. Crazy things are happening and it's hard to take in so much at once, but staying ignorant won't help anyone, especially those who don't have that privilege.
