  • S5 Episode 9 - Horse Sense

Okay - something that we never got around to talking about in this episode - *why* is this movie called 'Horse Sense'? Is that a common phrase? What do horses know that we don't?

Apparently it's something with how to save your farmland so if that ever comes up for you, ask a horse for help.

  • S5 Episode 8 - SPECIAL: Rad Dad or Bad Dad 4

In the newest and mostly final installment of the extra special "Rad Dad or Bad Dad" - Kyra & Sarah rank the dads from the last six months of episodes on their rad-ness or their bad-ness. And possibly just their overall dad-ness.

  • S5 Episode 7 - Read It and Weep

Happy belated Valentine's Day! This episode is a little late due to Kyra not wanting to edit ON Valentimes and no ragerts.

This week we're spending time with the Panabaker sisters in 2006's "Read It and Weep." Kyra had seen this one before - but was it a false memory?
Also - if you've read any good reads lately, let us know! This may be a movie podcasts but we do love boooooks.

  • S5 Episode 6 - Tiger Cruise

    CW: 9/11, Military

In case anyone was thinking that this movie was about something akin to a "zoo cruise" where you sail with Bengal tigers...please know that you will be severely disappointed.

  • S5 Episode 5 - Eddie’s Million Dollar Cook-Off

Despite what the beginning of the episode may seem to say, we are not talking about the 2000 masterpiece Aardman vehicle "Chicken Run" in today's episode.

Is this movie super different than "Chicken Run" in the fact that the main character is striving to fight against their gender-informed destiny by breaking the mold? Yes. Is there also baking in some form in both? Yes. Is the name Edwina also used in both? Yes.

    ...maybe it is "Chicken Run"...

  • S5 Episode 4 - Gotta Kick It Up!

Okay, genuine question, but what exactly *is* a dance team? Kyra and Sarah both seemed to have a different expectation going into this movie. Maybe our school(s) were weird (spoiler: they were).

  • S5 Episode 3 - Jett Jackson: The Movie

    CW: Suicide

After a bit of an unexpectedly extended hiatus (thanks to Spectrum outages and the LA floods of Jan 2023) - we're back in it with "Jett Jackson: The Movie" from 2001! Was this movie a fever dream? No, but maybe it should have been.

  • S5 Episode 2 - Miracle in Lane 2

    CW: Ableism, Miscarriage

The 2000s were not a *great* time for accurate representation of marginalized peoples...and this movie definitely follows that trend. A person living their life and competing in a race is *not* a miracle, Disney (we hope you've learned by now).

  • S5 Episode 1 - Genius

Welcome one and all to the fifth and final season of DCOM Mission. By the time this season is over we'll have been recording this show for nearly 3 years and will have watched over 100 DCOMs. It's a bittersweet moment for sure, but we hope you enjoy these last few episodes!

Also today's episode is the last '90's movie and that's pretty sad for two sad '90's babies... Enjoy!

  • Season 4 Wrap-Up

The end is nigh as we close out on our penultimate season! It's been (inadvertently) a long one, but we're sorry to say goodbye. Listen in to see how we reflect on the movies we've watched this past year(ish)!
