This OTP edition of DBYA features our fourth guest, Beau Morgan, Executive Producer for the Falcons Radio Network and the Dukes & Bell show on 92.9 The Game. We cover a number of topics as Beau shares both his personal and professional experiences with ATL sports. 

 Beau discusses with the crew what it’s been like working with Carl Dukes and Mike Bell (8:40), thoughts on new Falcons coach Arthur Smith (18:11) and former coach Dan Quinn (23:13), while also sharing some great stories from his time traveling with the Falcons over the years (29:00) and the precarious situation he got into with Falcons former Offensive Line coach Chris Morgan (34:30).

In this episode of DBYA we welcome our third guest, the Founder and President of Bar Crawl USA and an avid Cleveland sportz fan – Andy! We discuss how Andy got into the bar crawl business and he shares the future of bar crawls, post-pandemic. Andy reminisces on his favorite themes/crawls they’ve hosted, such as their Tacos and Tequila Crawls (8:15). We also reflect back with Andy about Bar Crawl’s “Pokémon Go” crawl held a few summers ago (9:27)…cause you gotta catch ‘em all.  

As a diehard, longtime Cleveland sportz fan, Andy shares his similar experiences to ATL sports fans (starting around 11:05). But unlike the Falcons, things are looking up for “Da Browns” (a Tommy Sportzism), and Andy discusses with DBYA his excitement for Baker and the future of the Browns (13:30). Of course, we couldn’t talk Cleveland sports without getting Andy’s thoughts on LeBron too, starting at 20:12. 

Discussions of being an Atlanta United fan starts at 24:10 and Andy shares what that experience has been like as a transplant ATLien. Off-season football chatter ensues, including “Houston, we have a problem”- talking Deshaun Watson and J.J. Watt (28:13). Tommy provides a 2-second analysis of College Basketball (33:05-33:07), and DBYA wraps with a quick discussion about Braves baseball and Spring Training (35:25).

In this special episode of DBYA, the crew recaps this year's Super Bowl, as Tampa Bay beat Kansas City 31-9. 

Really, the episode mostly consisted of Tommy Sportz singing the praises of his boy Tom Brady. Discussions of the halftime show, the streaker, and predictions on how much longer Tom Brady will play, are also included. It makes sense, if you don't think about it. 

In this episode, we reflect back on 2020, while also looking forward to 2021. We first introduce our second DBYA guest, Austin Wildcard (starting at 3:58) and he relates to Atlanta sports fans misery as he shares his experiences as a life-long Jacksonville Jaguars fan (7:44). Tommy Sportz explains his "blueprint to success" for the Jags including having Mel Gibson from Mad Max as the QB with Brad Pitt and the kid from SuperBad as the coaches... while also taking the “Friday Night Lights approach" to football. 

In the 2020 reflections (starting at 20:28), we look back on the ATL teams, beginning with the Falcons. Tommy proposes a hypothetical scenario (22:44) in which the crew discuss possible former athletes who could come out of retirement to help save the Falcons 2020 season, in a dash. The Braves (28:08) and the Hawks (29:00) are also discussed.  

2021 Predictions begin at 31:51, with Tommy sharing his thoughts on how sportz are a lot like jell-o (32:47). Tommy also has a beef with the NBA and James Hardin (34:28) that he needs to get off his chest. There's a little more Hawks talk (at 38:10) and then Falcons (40:41) and we also check in on Austin’s prediction for the Jaguars future (41:40). There’s some discussion about the Braves (43:36) and Tommy Sportz gives a hot take on Freddie Freeman that you don’t want to miss (unless you really love Freddie Freeman).

The episode ends with “Out-sport Tommy Sportz” (48:43) in which Tommy battles our guest Austin Wildcard in a game of Atlanta Sportz Trivia. Episode 3 (which was "Session 4") was recorded on Thursday November 19th, 2020. As a follow-up to the previous episode and the “Hope” for the Braves and other GA teams, DBYA was back to reality as Atlanta sports were again “doing Atlanta sports things.” This episode includes our first ever guest on the show – Beachy, a regular at “The Bar” and a long-time Atlanta sports fan. Beachy discusses her experiences growing up as an Atlanta sports fan cheering for the Braves and Falcons (starting around 6:45). We also debate the idea of the ATL Sports CURSE (22:15) and thoughts on the rise of the Atlanta United (28:37). Tommy Sportz provides a recap of the 2020 NBA draft (37:15) and names the five positions in basketball (41:08). Arthur Blank doesn’t like e-sports and DBYA discusses (45:25) how they feel about it. 

The final segment on this episode involves a game of “Outsport Tommy Sportz” in which Beachy competes in a rapid fire game of ATL sports trivia against Tommy Sportz. The first person to correctly answer 5 questions wins the game, the only catch is that Tommy begins with a 3-0 lead. Does he win? Or does he “pull an Atlanta”? Find out starting at 50:10.

Of course, in typical Atlanta fashion (much like eating a bad chicken tender)...we all know how this all turned out.
