Mirra Alfassa, known as The Mother, was a close spiritual collaborator of Sri Aurobindo, a key figure in the development and growth of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram and the later establishment of Auroville. They met in 1914 and recognized each other as spiritual companions destined to work together for the transformation of the world.
