Deadly Ever After

Gladys Ricart was tragically murdered on her wedding day on September 26, 1999, in Ridgefield, New Jersey. As she was handing out flowers to her bridal party before heading to the church, her ex-boyfriend, Agustin Garcia, entered her home.

Garcia, who was reportedly enraged by their breakup and her upcoming marriage to another man, shot Gladys three times in front of her family and friends. He was immediately apprehended at the scene and later convicted of first-degree murder.

This horrifying act of violence shocked the community and highlighted the dangers of domestic violence, even after a relationship has ended. Gladys' story has since been remembered as a tragic reminder of love turned deadly.

After three chilling seasons, Deadly Ever After has taken listeners deep into the shadows where true crime and weddings collide. From proposals that turned fatal, to honeymoons that ended in tragedy, to stories of love that crossed the line into obsession — Season 3 has been our darkest, most gripping yet. Along the way, we’ve laughed (darkly), cried, and uncovered the haunting reminder that not every “I do” leads to happily ever after.

As we close the book on this season, we’re grateful to our thousands of listeners who keep tuning in, sharing stories, and reminding us why we do this. Season 4 is already in the works — and trust us, the cases we have lined up will keep you hooked. Until then, stay safe, stay curious, and remember: happily ever after isn’t always guaranteed.

Two weddings. Two tragedies. Ursula Deschamps was a young bride whose life ended in a so-called accident that raised more questions than answers. Just a few years later, Marc Van Beers—a groom still on his honeymoon—met a violent end in Corsica. At the center of both stories? The same couple: Aurore Martin and Peter Schmitt. What began as promises of love and forever turned into betrayal, greed, and murder.

🎙️ Episode Description: The Top 5 Dumbest Criminals

Not every crime is clever. In fact, some are so ridiculously bad, they make you wonder how these people even tied their own shoes, let alone plotted a felony. In this episode of Deadly Ever After, Regina and Tasha count down the Top 5 Dumbest Criminals from the cases we’ve covered. From proposals that ended in police sirens to cover-ups so sloppy they were practically invitations to get caught, these are the “what were they thinking?!” moments that prove love and crime don’t always mix.

It’s a cocktail of true crime, wedding disasters, and absolute foolishness—served with a garnish of dark humor. Because sometimes the only thing deadlier than love… is stupidity.
