Dear Dog gets back to the basics as we talk to new dog owner Alex about his adorable, newly adopted child..I mean dog…Kaito. Ali and Betsy go full mama-bear as we guide Alex through the best practices for bringing a dog into your world; discussing everything from vet visits, off-leash safety and pet insurance to rules for leaving your dog home alone and dating with a dog. Alex also teaches us a little something about sustainable pet food options...can anyone say crickets? This week on Dear Dog, we get an inside look into what really goes into saving dogs. Ali helps support Betsy as she talks about a rescue story that did not have the happy ending everyone hopes for, as well as what keeps Betsy inspired to go on in her quest to leave no dog behind.

We certainly did, so we invited Animal Communicator Liz Murdoch on to tell us how we can be more in tune with our favorite four legged friends. She tells us about how she works, how you can work with her, and how you can use some of the same tools on your own with your pets to better connect with your dogs . Liz does some impromptu readings of Clementine, Phoebe, and Stanley (our dogs) with amazing and very specific results. You won't want to miss this episode! 

Dear Dog welcomes Courtney Wolff to tell her amazing story of rescuing a beautiful blind Sheep-a-doodle puppy named Oscar. By being in the right place at the right time, having a kind heart, and faith that it would all somehow work out, Courtney saved Oscar's life and enhanced her family’s life tremendously; most especially her 2-year old labradoodle Lulah. This story brings to life the saying 'who rescued who?’ You won’t want to miss this special episode!

This week Dear Dog welcomes Lisa Arturo, founder of Big Love Animal Rescue.  She leads us through her journey from being a shelter volunteer to creating one of LA’s most well-respected and successful rescues. In her work, Lisa not only manages the dogs’ care and placement, but she herself has gotten dogs out of from some truly heart-breaking and precarious situations - even multiple trips 60 feet into a sewer didn’t stop this warrior! Tune in to hear more about Lisa’s work and her passion for helping animals. She’s an inspiration!

Megan entertains us with her personal dog history which ranges from finding her beloved dog Bear as a puppy in a garbage can, to her first dog Sheba who she got in elementary school, after her teachers all but demanded her parents get this poor girl a dog, to her current pooches who came from some pretty rough backgrounds.

Megan shares some big news about her political future, and she sends a strong message about why dogs, particularly rescue dogs, are quite simply the best.
