Dear Dog It's Us, Ali & Betsy

Who doesn't want to know what their dog is thinking and feeling??? We certainly did, so we invited Animal Communicator Liz Murdoch on to tell us how we can be more in tune with our favorite four legged friends. She tells us about how she works, how you can work with her, and how you can use some of the same tools on your own with your pets to better connect with your dogs . Liz does some impromptu readings of Clementine, Phoebe, and Stanley (our dogs) with amazing and very specific results. You won't want to miss this episode! 

Dear Dog welcomes Courtney Wolff to tell her amazing story of rescuing a beautiful blind Sheep-a-doodle puppy named Oscar. By being in the right place at the right time, having a kind heart, and faith that it would all somehow work out, Courtney saved Oscar's life and enhanced her family’s life tremendously; most especially her 2-year old labradoodle Lulah. This story brings to life the saying 'who rescued who?’ You won’t want to miss this special episode!

This week Dear Dog welcomes Lisa Arturo, founder of Big Love Animal Rescue.  She leads us through her journey from being a shelter volunteer to creating one of LA’s most well-respected and successful rescues. In her work, Lisa not only manages the dogs’ care and placement, but she herself has gotten dogs out of from some truly heart-breaking and precarious situations - even multiple trips 60 feet into a sewer didn’t stop this warrior! Tune in to hear more about Lisa’s work and her passion for helping animals. She’s an inspiration!

On this week’s episode, Ali and Betsy welcome doggie wonder woman Megan O’Brien!

In addition to being the best dog mom in Tinseltown—her dogs Prudence and Chopper feast regularly on take out from Dan Tana’s, Mr. Chow and The Polo Lounge - Meg is also a dog rescuer and the founder of Dogipack; an all-in-one, multipurpose and fashionable dog walking belt. It comes complete with a poop-bag holder, and her signature dogipack poop-bags…they are #1 at picking up #2!

Megan entertains us with her personal dog history which ranges from finding her beloved dog Bear as a puppy in a garbage can, to her first dog Sheba who she got in elementary school, after her teachers all but demanded her parents get this poor girl a dog, to her current pooches who came from some pretty rough backgrounds.

Megan shares some big news about her political future, and she sends a strong message about why dogs, particularly rescue dogs, are quite simply the best.

She was rescued from a hoarding situation in 2016 and we discuss everything from what living with a previously-hoarded dog is like and how important it is to match your dog’s personality to your lifestyle, to the wackiest dog-related thing we each did this week. Fun Fact… Ali leaves a color-coded instruction manual for anyone who watches Clementine for more than 5 minutes.
