In this episode, with guest speaker Nick Kimble, we delve into the events of last week. An un-presidential debate that shocked the world because of the muckraking, mudslinging dog-fight that it turned into. This debate was not the only headline this past week however, since the president tested positive for the Coronavirus after having made contact with hundreds of his staffers and party members. Tune in to hear what we had to say about everything that happened!
As many of us may have heard over the pas few weeks, the west coast of the United States has been ravaged by wildfires, orange skies and smoke in the air. Millions of acres in forests are being burned to the ground, displacing hundreds of people from their homes and causing everyone to evacuate. This has been an annual recurrence for the past few years, and every year, these fires provide a stark warning about climate change. Now, while the federal authorities chose to take no decisive action, and with many Americans dissuaded from the science behind climate change, hope for improvement is needed more than ever. We are here to weigh in on the situation and present our thoughts on this horrible series of events.
In this episode, we briefly discuss Ruth Bader Ginsburg's legacy as a Supreme court justice. She was a woman of strength, having fought battles for human rights on a national level while fighting her own battles with health and the loss of loved ones. She has been a positive force in American politics, and has helped America change for the better in a sense. Today, a few days after her passing, Republicans are looking to replace her position so that they can push their own conservative agenda, and backtrack many of the rights that RBG would have fought for. They are being hypocritical and are endangering America whilst setting one of the worst precedents in history. We are here to discuss it all!
In this episode, we break down the electoral process behind US elections and discuss whether it is truly needed in this day and age. Many people are okay with the systems in place today, but over the past 2 decades, we have had 2 presidents who lost the popular vote and were still elected into office. This reoccurrence has caused many people to speak out against the electoral system, claiming that it is inherently flawed. We are here to debate just that, so tune in to hear what we think!
