Captain Joe and Panto frantically removed water from below the deck of The Decade Bird for several hours. As the ship slowly descended, it also quickly drifted further north. The water got colder and colder and caused pain to the two pirates as they reached their buckets into it, but they pressed on. Captain Joe was motivated by his love for his ship.
