Together, they are joined by seven wealthy and powerful individuals, each representing a planet in the solar system, as they seek the titular Holy Mountain to overthrow the gods and achieve immortality. The film is renowned for its striking visuals, provocative symbolism, and unconventional narrative. It was produced with funding from John Lennon and Yoko Ono and premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 1973. Jodorowsky's unique approach to filmmaking, including spiritual preparation for the cast, adds to its mystique. Alejandro Jodorowsky is a Chilean-French filmmaker, writer, and artist, celebrated for his avant-garde and surrealist works.
